all i want to get across is that if you are a fan of tomb raider, yet a dedicated nintendo fan, now is your chance! after nearly completing the PS2 version in the couple past days, what ive seen is amazing. Lara returns with a new look, new moves and all new gadgetry.

the game is sooo different, yet so true to the previous games. its back to the tombs this time (which all look stunning btw) and this is balanced with a little out of tomb action. however it is fairly balanced unlike the dire angel of darkness.

the story line is addictive with flash backs, and interactive cutscenes which are VERY fun to mess around with. they remind me alot of the resi 4 ones.

as soon as this game is out on gamecube, i reccomend it tremendously. any more questions, dont hesitate to ask.

I'll get it just so it gives more of a chance for more eidos games on the rev and because it's a decent game or so i've read.

I could get it for the PC but I'll wait for the cube version which is apparently close to the X-Box version.

Never played any Tomb Raider games, are they any good?

i suggest gettin tomb raider 2, 4 or 5 on pc as they are dirt cheap now. they will give you the old atmosphere of the games. however they look very dated now. but in answer to your question: yes, yes they are

Bought it for my parents on Friday (PS2 version)! I haven't played it yet but I'm glad to hear the game has gone back to it's roots.

I'm playing through PoP Two Thrones right now so I will go onto Tob Raider next (if I get the chance with my parents playing it).

This game has made me start up Tomb Raider 2 again (on the PC), which I bought YEARS ago and only played through a few of the early levels.

Made it through the first level; up the Great Wall, past all the triggered tomb traps (falling floors, rolling bolders, enclosing spiked walls, rolling blades), past the T-Rex's, zip-lined over the canyon, gunned down the last two tigers, on to the next level and....... my game disc has an error!

I've finished it twice in 3 days (yes its short), if you have a 360 buy it on that it will look alot lot better.

The GameCube version will be a port of the XBOX one rather than the PS2 one apparently. That can only be good news.

What about the original you lacky!

Anyways... just played through the demo on PC and all I must say it makes me want to cry, in a good way. I spent lots of time with the tomb raider games (all bar AoD) and all though this has a very different feel, it hits the mood from the original games perfectly. It really feeds off the direction that TR4 was going in but is so free.

I think the control scheme could do with a bit of a re-vamp. I keep having to chase around my keyboard for stuff. If you like adventure, I'd say get it.

A quick update. as jordan has said, yes it is quite short, but with different difficulty settings, time trials and hundreds of secrets to find, this will last for ages. also abother fun thing is unlocking diferent outfits. trawling through booby traps and motorbiking in kazakhstan in a business suit or a formal dinner dress is hilarious.

Is the first level as annoyingly slow as in TR3?

I have that, and I got boored before I finished the first level. There was like only a few tigers and a giant. And it took me hours to get to where I was!

no no, the first level is quite self explanatory explaining controls features etc. i agree though, the first level dragged on like a bitch.
