demonmike04 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Didnt see any topics on front page so i thought i'd post Ign are reporting that a preview for the simpsons movie has started running at theatres in the US. http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/699/699651p1.html It might be an april fools, but this was published yesterday, but may be an april fools by the simpsons creators. Opinions?
Hero-of-Time Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Yeah I read about this this morning but couldnt post as the forums wouldnt load up for me. Many a website is saying its true so maybe it aint an april fools....I really hate this day!
Haver Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 The BBC are running an identical story so it may well be legitimate.
Ashley Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Hmm was gonna bump my topic about the film from about a week ago but ah well. http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20060331-093855-7513r has a description, and apparently a promo ran on FOX last night saying there would be something announced this Sunday during the new Simpsons episode (USA), so if it is an april fools they've gone through a lot. Ah finally got it, thank god for VLC player.
Ashley Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 The video was shown last night on Fox, and can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Roj6U79xuh4 Im still trying to find a version I can hear, for a while I've not been able to hear sound on YouTube.
gorrit Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 "Excellent" I doubt it will be as good as the best Simpsons episodes, I'll pretty surely watch this much in respect to a classic series.
demonmike04 Posted April 3, 2006 Author Posted April 3, 2006 Ah brilliant! Thanks for editing the title. I have huge doubts that the film will be worth while, but simpsons have been getting increasingly funny lately, last sunday's episode with Willy the grounds keeper was hillarious.
*Dalco* Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 yea hopfully it will be good and as demonmike says the new episodes have started to pick up
Ashley Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 "We've taken script security to the point of lunacy, though it helped that we wrote it in Aramaic," quipped Mike Scully, who penned the script with creator Matt Groening, Brooks and series vets Al Jean, Ian Maxtone-Graham, George Meyer, David MirkinDavid Mirkin, Mike Reiss, Matt Selman, John Swartzwelder and Jon Vitti. David Silverman, the "Simpsons" supervising animation director who co-helmed 2001's "Monsters, Inc.," is set as director. "We've also set Albert Brooks, Minnie Driver and the real Erin Brockovich, so you should be able to deduce the plot just from that information," said Jean, who is running the show in its 17th season. The original intention, said Groening, was to delay the film until the show was done. Wonder why they bumped it up. Anyway it seems they are putting their all into this, no half-arsed job and hopefully the script will reflect it.
spirited away Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 hmm is it me or does the simpsons seem to be going downhill? then again i havent seen many of the new ones as i gave up on it at series 14
