Bluejay Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Flick based on a famous graphic novel, made by the creators of Matrix Trilogy. Out March 17th. Just saw the tralier, looked fun. Anyone read the comic? I'm considering buying it now. trailers
dabookerman Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 this is one of my most anticipated films... i mean it has hugo weaving, he god damn rocks
Bluejay Posted March 4, 2006 Author Posted March 4, 2006 The guy behind the mask I presume? And when it says creators of the Matrix Trilogy, that would mean the Wachowski(sp) Brothers, correct?
Konfucius Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I'm also looking forward to this film a lot, although I the trailer I saw didn't tell me what it was about, but that's why im interested in it.
Indigo Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I'm expecting this to be good, but certainly not great. The comic's creator doesn't approve of the film, which is never a promising sign, and I'm sceptical that there'll be too much of a political slant.
Nintendork Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 "D for Delayed." Looking forward to this, along with Syriana.. and I've still not seen Munich or King Kong and there's Capote coming up. A lot of catching up to do..
Hero-of-Time Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 i mean it has hugo weaving, he god damn rocks How very true you are.
Blackfox Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Its a Wackowski brothers film. So it'll either be awesomey great or an awesome let down.
Bogbas Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 i mean it has hugo weaving, he god damn rocks And Natalie portman so who could resist it?
dabookerman Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 And Natalie portman so who could resist it? with her shiny bald head and yes, just because its made by the wachowskis doesnt mean its gonna be shit, there is no expectations to this movie, they are making a film of their favourite comic. so i doubt it will be anything less then good, ill say it will be at least a 7/10 http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/v_for_vendetta/ that is pretty decent if you ask me.
Hellfire Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Natalie Portman+Hugo Weaving= heaven Can't wait for this, even though I never read the graphic novel.
Nintendork Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Its a Wackowski brothers film. So it'll either be awesomey great or an awesome let down. I don't think they have enough films in their repertoire for you to make that comment. Though I count the trilogy as one film, the third did not deliver what I wanted. I think the comic book formula is getting a bit old, the public will start groaning being force fed so much hollywood trash soon. I'll see this though because it's got that political edge and it's set in the UK.. which totally pwnz whatever HellBoy, and Fantastic Four were all about. I think this film seriously could be up there with what Sin City did last year.. dirty, gritty edges.. sinister material and solid actors.
Dan_Dare Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 the lack of support for the original creator is very...worrying. then again, Anthony Burgess had big issues with the adaptation of A Clockwork Orange, and that was pretty good.
