Unlocking those doors sold the Mouse-Con as a viable alternative controller configuration more than anything they showed in yesterday's Direct – took them 20 seconds :p

Alright, release date in a summer Direct I guess it is for Prime 4 :p

Looks great though, especially love the look of the cutscenes!

Huh, this music is from Mario Kart 8, (Ice Ice Outpost, I think) but the track is not...

Weird, I'm guessing they've added new run-up sections to these tracks?

Man, you grow back from lightning ridiculously fast. It's surprisingly ineffective in helping people catch up.

EDIT: Holy bloom hell, Batman! That's actually painful to look at!

Oh no. People are gonna moan that a Metroid game dares to have English dialogue.

Makes no sense to moan.  Literally every previous Metroid Prime except for MP2 has had English language dialogue.

I hope that you can turn the "Lock-on Free Aim" off. Unless you're built around that, like Metroid Prime 3, that's gonna make aiming difficult.

EDIT: Huh, this boss does utilise the free aim... That's gonna suck for people not using motion/mouse controls...

Good! Motion should be the default! Glad they’re not designing for the lowest common denominator.

Should've pointed out that I meant voiced. Other M and Prime 3 get flak for having voiced lines for some reason.

Prime 1 had the odd bit of English voice dialogue too.  At least in some versions of the game.

Quit being facietious, you know what I mean.

DK Bananza is not selling me on the concept. It's basically Odyssey with destructible terrain. And bananas are bloody everywhere. Hell, he even collects them in a similar way to Moons.

This is a stealth Mario Odyssey sequel.

EDIT: Oh man, there's even a "Banana Trio" for more story based objectives! Wonder where that idea came from?

The Switch 2 Edition of Zelda looks absolutely wonderful!

Need to make sure I don't pull the trigger on these but my curiosity is a bit too high :p

I’ve just seen the Zelda trailer on Nintendo’s X account.  Did I miss the announcement of Achievements within the Direct? They seem to have added them to the Nintendo mobile app!

No you're right Wacker, these weren't shown in the Direct – but watching the Treehouse now, while they do have achievements (medals), they're just in-app for Zelda Notes in the case of the BotW and TotK Switch 2 Editions. Seems like at best it'll be a per game basis, but it's not at the system level, unfortunately (well, for some, I'm sure others will be happy about this)

Like it's been since the Wii.

Good. Forced achievements are lame, they're always more interesting when the game is designed with them in mind, and they're in-game. Especially if they're tied to an actual reward.

Real talk, being able to transfer items between BotW and TotK is legit cool.

The speed with which the photo for the schematic QR code transferred from game to phone was very exciting, and the voice implementation for the memory was super cool. Still not a fan of the SatNav but whatever ::shrug: I'm well impressed with how good it looks regardless, super smooth in combat – one of those cases where I imagine it will be very tough to go back to the original!

Yeah, that's a neat idea. It's new dialogue too, so can't say the effort wasn't put in.
If it was for a game I cared about, this would've likely got me to revisit it. It's very cool.

Gonna need that Kirby Forgotten Land app, so I can get more of that Deep Kirby Lore, please!

Well now I need deep and disturbing Kirby lore conveyed with only these sounds

I have been waiting to pick up Forgotten Land, this Switch 2 Edition might be the final push I need...

The chat on the YouTube stream is an absolute trainwreck though, just constant spamming of 'LOWER THE PRICE!" or "PIRATE ALL NINTENDO GAMES!" I'm sure it'll die down eventually but there has definitely been a huge backlash in some corners to the price rises.

It's been a bit of a whirlwind the last 24 hrs, there is so much about the games and the hardware that seem incredible so I am really excited to get my hands on the Switch 2 but the revelations about the uptick in game pricing have definitely taken some of the gloss off

Your standard reminder that Four Swords is amazing!

"I can see all of your screens, and none of you are helping!"

Yep, standard Four Swords experience!

Man, Wind Waker looks great at this resolution!

EDIT: Hell, they all look great.

Mario Strikers will likely be the next game that gets added after launch. Seeing as someone did an oopsies and left it on that menu.
