Glen-i Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) Anyone else seen this game making the rounds lately? It's gotten quite a few great reviews, and after playing through 3 chapters, I can see why. Utterly intriguing, and I can't wait to delve deeper. It's a narrative-driven game, with some light puzzle solving elements. Kinda? I'm not entirely sure, it's strange, and trippy, and has people who previously worked in Theatre and Performance Art working on it, aiming to tell a story that only the medium of games can tell. Runs great on Switch too! 60 FPS with only slight dips from time to time. I know I posted the trailer above, but if this remotely interests you, I'd recommend trying to go in blind. It's £16.75, but it's 10% off at the moment. Edited May 17 by Glen-i 1
Dcubed Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) Yeah, from what I’ve seen of him playing it; it’s really cool so far. If you’re into abstract sci-fi with an intentionally disjointed and cryptic narrative structure that’s grounded in real world allegory and family drama, as well as experimental art-house theatre; and you like games like Zero Escape or AI: The Somnium Files that mix the VN and puzzle genres, I reckon you’ll get a kick out of this one Edited May 18 by Dcubed

Haven't heard of it so it looks like I'm not hobnobbing in these highfalutin circles. Looks like it could be all right. Making a mental note to be on the lookout for "Glen-i's game with a Pokémon move name" in the January sales.
Jonnas Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Haven't watched a single trailer. Already added to my wishlist (on GOG as well). That pitch was good enough for me. Thanks for the heads up, @Glen-i! 1 1
darksnowman Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Early adopters shafted again: a map has been added and will be coming soon to the Switch version.
Glen-i Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Eh, the place wasn't that big really, I memorised where things were sooner or later.
Dcubed Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) So now that I’ve finally gone back and finished The Great Ace Attorney Adventures (after previously stopping mid-way through back in 2021), I finally have the chance to play 1000x Resist in the interim between GAA 1 & 2. This game kicks all sort of arse so far! Loving it! Such a wild and experimental game, love this sort of abstract storytelling and puzzle/adventure/visual novel kind of gameplay. I’m not all that far into it yet, but I’m already loving it. It’s so bold and brave! The kind of creative experience that sticks with you and gets you really thinking. It slots in very nicely with the likes of the Zero Escape games, and especially AI: The Somnium Files (another one that I need to go back and finish). If you want to experience a game like no other? And you love intentionally abstract and mysterious sci-fi storytelling? I really strongly recommend you give this one a look. It deserves to be in the running for GOTY, it’s certainly amongst the most creative and interesting games out there Grace to the ALLMOTHER! Edited November 11 by Dcubed 1
