You had 1 job!

Very odd given that the trailer actually talks about getting two Platinums (one for the PS4 and one for the PS5 version).

Edit: There is a Platinum.

Exophase

Edit²: That gif is from one of my favourite scenes of Brooklyn 99

What's the point of Il Molise? Just had a go of that level and I'm not sure what you're supposed to do in it. Is it a purely grinding stage?

There is something there, but you're not able to do it yet. Leave it for now.

I've had a great time playing this yesterday and today. It's been a long time since a game has hooked me this much. It's so much fun to play. It harkens back to when gameplay was king and a game wasn't filled with busy work. Just pure gameplay at its finest.

Anyway, the base game is complete.

I've got a decent handle on the game now. My beginner plan was to level up the Crown as soon as it appears so that I can level up faster. I then concentrate on getting both the Knife and Whip sorted, with the Pentegram close behind. I then take care of protecting myself with either the King Bible, Garlic or Santa Water. I could slot in the Lightning Ring if need be. Using this method has carried me all the way to the last boss, as well as doing some of the level 50 character challenges. Once they are all evolved it's not too difficult. However, once I started unlock and using more characters I found most weapon combos are quite viable. I think the only ones I found pretty useless were flame staff and cats.

Speaking of which (or should that be witch?), Giovanna is awful to use. Her main weapon is garbage, even when levelled up and evolved. Proving once again that cats suck.

Another tricky challenge was using Divano, getting him to level 50 and reaching stage 31 on Mad Forest. The very start of the stage was a nightmare and I spent a lot of the time running and picking up what little gems I could. Eventually the tables turned and....

You shall not pass!

It's hilarious how over the top everything becomes. I mean, Queen Sigma's flashy move is hilarious to watch and butchered everything in sight.

Lovely stuff.

I picked up a couple of the DLC packs that came with trophies and so I'll be tackling those next.

Marvellous game.

Hah! Oh boy, you have no idea!

The cats are so absolutely busted, that it's actually more effective to not evolve them! They get a permanent strength increase every time they nick some floor chicken.

This can snowball really hard!

Had a crack at Adventure more. It takes a bit of adjusting after being fully powered and now having to start from scratch.

@drahkon are you playing the PS5 version? I'm on the PS4 and it appears some of the DLC trophies are broke at the moment. PS4 version seems to be the knackered one. Can't find anything regarding the PS5 version though. I'll probably shelve the game until the trophies are fixed.

Reading through the thread, there is certainly some truth to what Shekiah was saying. I love the gameplay loop but once you find a combo that works for you then the game is pretty easy and can play itself. There have been a few times where I probably could have left the game running and would have been in no danger of being killed. Good job you can manually quite out of the game.

Shame I'm going to hang fire to play the DLC. Still, I've got a good 25+ hours out of the base game so I'm due a break. :D

I am!

I had a look at the trophy percentages and it looks like the PS5 version is fine.

I ended up playing a some more of this before going to bed. I decided to play through a couple of the extra maps that are unaffected by the trophy glitch.

Astral Stair confused the hell out of me. I didn't know where to go until I realised there were doors scattered about the place. They blend in far too much to the background to be really noticeable, especially when stuff is flying left and right on the screen. I then played through Space 54. Wasn't a fan of this stage at all. Whole thing just seemed too disjointed to be any fun.

Me sat at work right now wanting to play more VS.

This was a nice surprise. I wasn't planning on playing this during my October/Halloween gaming month but the patch for the broken trophies dropped yesterday afternoon. This meant I could finally finish the game, which I done this evening.

The Garlic Paradise adventure mode wasn't too difficult but I struggled more than I should with World of Light and Dark. The game just wouldn't give me the drops I needed and I was always too weak when the later rounds came around. I decided to drop my weapons from 6 to 4, meaning they would level up quicker. This worked a treat. All done!

I think you might be the only person who thinks that.

Garlic sucks. And so does Poe!

Recently, the Switch version got an update, it didn't have any new content, but @Dcubed had the feeling that the framerate ran better.

So I tested it out with a character that consistently crashes the game due to how obscenely powerful they can get, and I got through multiple runs with no issues, and the frames definitely didn't drop as much!

So, in the spirit of that image I posted when I first broke the game literally, "Let's keep going, and see what happens!"

Mmmmmm! Positively buttery smooth compared to before!

Didn't crash though, I've done four runs with similar builds now, and I completed all of them!

So I guess we finally found some vampires then?

The running gag is finally over :(

Still, can't complain with getting almost an entire game's worth of new content in one go.  We've finally come full circle! (of the moon).
