Glen-i
Quote Why so expensive? This DLC is absolutely massive; I know this might sound as an hyperbole, but I'm sure at some point you'll see why it's not. The idea was that for the amount of content and production costs, it feels fair to price it about 1 less money than VS. Why so cheap? Despite being so big and definitely being a big step up in production, we still have to price this fairly in the context of the other DLCs and of the base game. Normally something like this would not be sustainable; we could do this only thanks to the massive support we have received and keep receiving from the players, so we also want this to be accessible to as many fans as possible. Are you lying again about the amount of content in the DLC? What a preposterous question!

I actually think it's not completely impossible now, seeing as they've managed a Contra crossover! Hope so anyway, Castlevania DLC would seriously be the icing on the cake for this game. Finally we get crossover DLC that actually makes sense! Excellent. 1

RedShell
Whoa! I think they might've gone a bit over the top with the Castlevania DLC. Definitely going to take a while to unlock everything and explore the entire map. There doesn't appear to be an adventure for this one though, which is probably for the best. I dunno, without that 30p discount, I might have felt a bit cheated... I've unlocked a fair few characters now, out of all of them, Hector is easily the most ridiculous! I think it's theoretically possible to utilise his gimmick to end up with 20 different weapons! It's absolutely insane! Julius, CHARLOTTE!, and Alucard are also very good, although CHARLOTTE! is quite inflexible, she has one setup that uses her gimmick, and deviating from that makes her less effective. At the bottom of the rung so far is Christopher. Jet Black Whip is absolutely dreadful, and it merely becomes mediocre when it evolves. His personal benefit is decent, but there are way better. I'm losing track of names for characters/weapons at this point as there's so many, but one run I did stood out more than others due to how ridiculously OP the character was, so it was probably Hector then. Also, I think it's safe to say they never need to add another whip to Vampire Survivors ever again. During one game I had an inventory full of 'em, then this popped into my head:

Glen-i
Welp, gotten all the characters, and did the Richter specific acheivement. Absolutely spectacular! Honestly, this DLC alone is in the running for Game of the Year! It's that good! If you have this game, get this DLC, best 3 quid you will ever spend! RedShell
This game hit a new low with the Ode to Castlevania DLC... Spoiler ...a new low frame rate that is! Yep, I managed to get it down to 12 fps, something I've not been able to do on PC since the engine upgrade. The game got so cluttered and unresponsive one time that I couldn't even see where I was going, so had to keep popping into the map literally every few seconds just to check where I was! It also became impossible to trigger the bosses, even if I was standing in the correct spot (or, what the map suggested was the correct spot ) nothing would happen. And all of this insanity was created with one of the new characters from the DLC. When I decided to then play as my goto VS character, Stinky Old Garlic Man™, who it would appear has eaten way too many golden eggs... Holy crap! I've actually created a monster.

Eh, Your Stinky Old Garlic Man™ is no match for my Malevolent Nuke Tree! Yes, that was the character I was using in that previous clip I posted, not that you could tell. In an effort to make it not move agonisingly slow, I've inadvertantly made it the most powerful character on my file... I regret nothing! Please, you have no idea of the power that Stinky Old Garlic Man possesses. He's unstoppable. Reckon he has room for even more eggs too. Actually, that's a good point, just how many eggs can a single character have? I've never actually looked into it, SOGM is just super OP because I play as him 99% of the time so he's obviously scoffed the most eggs.

Glen-i
Why tell, when I can show? (Base game secret character spoilers ahead) Of note here, is the Magnet stat, a certain Arcana card that was recently added scales off of that Magnet. That card alone absolutely craters the framerate with my egged up Peppino, so add on all sorts of other weapons, and you've got easy-peasy single digit framerates on Switch. Hasn't caused a crash yet since the engine upgrade, so good job there, Poncle. Ironically, in an attempt to get this damn thing to move somewhere, I've created a unkillable death machine that doesn't need to go anywhere at all.

Trust me on that. If running out of stuff to unlock is the reason you stop playing, then go for it, there's enough to keep you busy for ages. If you quit because you've just had your fill, then ehhhh, think about it.

I see. It's a weird one. I come back to the game regularly on my Steam Deck but eventually just stop for a few weeks. I've just bought it. It's only 4 bucks.
