I need it now :D The trailer is awesome. I need the game now!

Makes me want to play the first one's director's cut.
I think I might give it a try after Biomutant.

Exactly how I feel after watching the trailer. Hearing BB's theme again...chills.

Same.

Cannot freaking wait to see where the game is going :D Kojima will not disappoint!

Very sad, though, that the band Low Roar lost its lead singer and founder this year. :( Their music was perfect for the first game. I'll be surprised if there won't be any kind of remembrance in DS2.

Yeah, I read about that when it happened. Death Stranding introduced myself and many others to their music. :(

Their songs will always be in my Spotify playlists.

These scenes from the first game are incredible.

My goodness, that first guitar riff attack...

See the sunset
The day is ending
Let that yawn out
There's no pretending

:bouncy:

Can't wait to see Troy Baker's performance. Loved him in the first game and he seems to be on top again this time around!

So, this has just been rated in South Korea:

GjGRmTNbIAMr6dk?format=jpg&name=4096x409

Yeah, yeah, I know, sometimes we get these ratings a good while out...but the first Death Stranding had its rating deliberated in SK on 18/09/19, before the game released on 08/11/19. And Kojima and PlayStation are pretty consistent about their build-up to launch roadmaps.

So, potentially somewhere between May and July for this, I'd guess? That rumoured State of Play for next week (otherwise some time this month) seems the obvious place to drop this release date.

Which I imagine would mean Yōtei is indeed the September/October autumn title for them this year, which I thought would be the case just based on the visuals/vibe.

Super exciting stuff, you could be playing DS2 pretty soon @Hero-of-Time @drahkon!

I'm so close to being caught up on Kojima, I've been pretty purposeful in getting through the MGS games before wanting to get to Death Stranding...but yeah, there's little chance I realistically get to DS2 this year, what with MGSV and DS both being these massive games I'd rather take my time with than rush. Still, I'm so close to being caught up!

Hmm, wonder what that means for its presence in tomorrow's State of Play?

Apparently it meant that it wouldn't show :p which means this is almost certainly where you're getting that DS2 release date! If I'm remembering right the release date for the first DS was also done separate to PlayStation so I guess this shouldn't be a total shocker?

Weirdly enough, the livestream is already up - it will air at 21:00 GMT on 9th March:

At the Special Panel, Hideo Kojima will discuss and share new details about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the upcoming sequel to the critically acclaimed Death Stranding video game, arriving exclusively on PlayStation 5 later this year.

Kojima Productions will also host an exclusive pop-up shop at SXSW which will feature the latest Death Stranding 2: On the Beach merchandise, as well as exclusive items that will be available only at SXSW. More information on the pop-up shop will be confirmed shortly. Stay tuned for more updates!

Per billbil-kun, standard editions of the game will be €69.99 and there will be a collector's edition retailing at €229.99, with pre-orders expected to start this month.

Does that €229.99 have you making child maintenance payments for BB or something? Really curious to see what's included with that CE.

Reminder that the game's release date is expected to drop during the game's dedicated SXSW panel this Sunday evening.

Sure, everything is clear to me... :p

Anyways. I wanted to get the Platinum for Death Stranding: Director's Cut before this is out, but...I doubt I'll make it :D

Nah, I reckon it's doable.

Just like I'm going to play both MGSV and Death Stranding to catch up before DS2 releases! :D

(I'm joke please don't hold me to this)

Damn, what a trailer

Have no idea what any of it means (especially, uh, should I say Not Snake? Thought he looked eerily similar and then he went and did *that*. And was that Not Conan with him at the start?), but the imagery is just all kinds of insane. Genuinely jawdropping at times, the Decima engine was always gorgeous but this feels like it's taking it to another level in terms of ambition.

Yeah, this is honestly probably the game releasing this year I'm most gutted about not playing in 2025 (simply because I plan to continue my Kojima run with some of his earlier games beforehand), but I'm very much looking forward to hearing impressions about it, and I'm especially curious about what the gameplay loop is like vs the first game! Which I did very briefly dabble with a few years ago :p

The Strands of Harmony World Tour will premiere on November 8th 2025, the 6th anniversary of the release of DEATH STRANDING.

A Message From Hideo Kojima
I'm truly delighted that the music of "DEATH STRANDING" has resonated with fans worldwide, making this world concert tour a reality.
Music accounts for 80% of what moves people emotionally. In "DEATH STRANDING," it plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere of the game and evoking players' emotions.
I hope that the songs, whether they are songs that play in moments of solitude or ones that evoke cinematic spectacle, I hope that they will touch your hearts.

A Message from Ludvig Forssell
"It's an honor and a privilege to be part of, and to have the music of DEATH STRANDING reach a live audience. DEATH STRANDING's music stretches from intimate ballads, to synthwave, all the way to climactic orchestral anthems and I can't wait to bring this eclectic musical experience to life with arrangements aimed to elevate each piece in a full orchestral setting. I also hope that we will be able to take you on a journey along with Sam Porter Bridges as the story and music evolves from the first installment to its sequel."
