My Wii U is unpacked. I could just go and buy the original GBA version on the eShop for a fraction of the price of this new version. :D

Ewww, no. If anything, buy the DS one.

Main Pokémon games only give you a vague HP bar to go off of, yet it doesn't get flak for that.

Trust me, it gets a lot of flak for that from me :p

For me, the entire point is that you go into a new dungeon, scout it out and figure out which Pokémon are going to give you a hard time and prepare for it.

That's a good way to approach it. Hadn't thought of it that way. I'll do the same. Go in and get wrecked by Pokémon and then prepare for next time.

I'm not a fan of playing DS games on the Wii U. The layout options aren't ideal. :(

Seeing as the top screen in Blue Rescue Team is exclusively used for the map and team stats, it's one of those games that works really well with the Bottom Screen Focus layout.

I actually took tomorrow off from work because WHY NOT :D Can't wait :)

I'm pulling an all-nighter from midnight. Haven't been this hyped for a Switch game since Smash Ultimate!

Probably shouldn't mention that I'm currently wearing a Marowak shirt as well...

Man, it's gonna be tough for me to relearn all the Pokémon (and attacks and items...) in English. I've only played up to Gen II and I did so with German copies of the games. :D
Anyway, after looking it up I now know what Pokémon Marowak is.

See, that got me curious, and I looked up Marowak's German name.

That certainly is something. It's no Schiggy, but it's still amusing from an English viewpoint.

Yeah, there are some weird names in our language.

Can you guess what Persian is called in German? Yeah, you're right...Snobilikat.
And what about Drowzee? It's obviously Traumato.

That's a way better name.

That? Not so much.

The game has been out for a few hours now...have you finished it yet, @Glen-i? :p

Halfway to the credits now. It's a lot tougher than the original though. Really harsh, I love it!

More importantly...

OK, 7 hour night PMD binge done. As much as I'd love to carry on and hear more delicious remixes, I need sleep.

You know how I said there were 6 more milestones than the original game?

Spoiler

I was wrong, there's at least 7.

There's a new medley of music from Gates to Infinity that I stumbled across and the thing is almost 7 minutes long! This soundtrack is straight up impeccable.

Ok, this makes me even more excited. :D

I just woke up. Local store opens in an hour.  WHY DOES TIME MOVE SO SLOWLY?

My copy arrived! :D

I've just unsealed it, checked out the awesome interior of the box and the cartridge is now in the case of current 'to play' games.

I could start playing it now, but then I probably wouldn't get anything done today... it is very tempting though. :p

Welp, I've played this for 3 hours straight with a short lunch break.

It's quite addictive. Haven't advanced the story much...but that's how I roll :D

Reached Bronze rank and "caught" a few Pokémon.

I think Machop was a horrible choice. He's quite useless compared to Psyduck, for example. The latter has a long range attack which is kind of OP. Machop rarely gets the chance to attack...

I'm like 2 plot dungeons off from the credits and I'm still on Normal Rank. Probably explains why I got bodied by a Teddiursa.

Fury Swipes is terrifying in Mystery Dungeon.

And here I thought it's necessary to rank up a lot :D

I just keep doing requests from the bulletin board.

The first time I fought against a stronger monster (the one's that are marked as such), I owned it. After that I've been destroyed during every new encounter with one of them. ::shrug:

As you progress, you'll get harder dungeons, which give harder jobs that give more rank points. So there's not much need to grind the ranks this early on.

Don’t worry.  The majority of the game takes place post credits; that’s when the kiddie gloves come off and the ranks start to really matter.

Welp, my entire party got wiped out in 1 hit from a single Magnitude.

100 damage at level 29 is no laughing matter!

Still, a good opportunity for me to try the rescue features out in this game.

Are you talking about the online rescues? What exactly are they for?
