You have until just after the end of the first week in the New Year to make your choice. That should give you plenty of time to play some more games. The poll will give an overall visual result and show how people are voting and who voted for which game. You can only pick one but you can obviously discuss all the other great games that you've played throughout the year. If the mods can merge all 5 threads into 1 somehow that would be great. Sorry too that I didn't put Meme Run as an option.

I'll do the other 3 polls in a couple of hours.

So much quality in that list, and so many good games that I haven't got around to play yet, but will (Stealth Inc. and Shovel Knight are 2 such games). However, I did get to review Guacamelee for Nintendo:Review, and not only was it the best eShop title I played all year, it was one of the very best games I've played. Amazing combat and combat related puzzles throughout, and drop in drop out 2 player co-op was the icing on the cake.

This is what I thought when I played it a while back; http://nintendoreview.co.uk/2014/07/guacamelee-super-turbo-championship-edition/

Honorable mentions must go out to Lone Survivor, Scram Kitty, SteamDig World, and Thomas Was Alone.

Tough choice. I chose Guacamelee! because I had great fun with it when I reviewed it. I'm only now playing Shovel Knight, and whilst I have fun, I don't find it as good as people have led me to believe. I haven't played SteamWorld Dig but have it on the Wii U so will get around to it soon, same almost goes for Stealth Inc 2, which I'm about 3 or 4 hours into.

Art of Balance and Tetrobot & Co. are good games but not near GOTY material.

Bayonetta is the odd one out here as it's also retail in some sense.

Oh come on, Bayonetta doesn't count...

Wow, surprised at the amount of Guacamelee.

It's a good game, but I thought Shovel Knight would be winning this one so far.

I guess most of the people who played it did so on 3DS.

So did I. So I voted for Child of Light. And here's why.

If I had to sum up this game in one sentence, it would be "The perfect RPG for when you want to relax" It's definitely slow-paced with a focus on exploration and it's fairy tale setting. And it's not challenging at all (That's what hard difficulty is for).

The dialogue is a "love it or hate it" affair (I personally love it).

Child of Light is probably my surprise hit of the year. Considering how Ubisoft has been this year.

The reasoning for Bayonetta's inclusion in the eShop category is because you could only buy it as part of a bundle in retail shops but you could buy it separately on the eShop.
