Tales Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Played throgh the advanced demo, and some of the easy version, and I like what I saw. The game looks great. I haven't pre ordered it yet, because I'm still hoping there will be some special edition for the game. The anime will be available on youtube December 26th.
Shorty Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 ^ didn't realise there was different demo content! I liked this demo a lot. It's more of the same, but that's okay. It's a strange game, a weird almost incomplete feeling, but I really like the controls and the atmosphere of it, and the big HD visuals bring it to life.
Tales Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Anyone else bought this or at least thinking about it? Heard it sold really low in the UK, which is too bad because it's a great game. Had Monday off and pretty much spent all the time playing this, about 40 hours in three days. Love the new areas, very colourful compared to the original(also included the game, with one story arc for each) and the sidequests, most of which are varied and intestering to do. The pictures below are all from the in game camera which you will be using in both story mode and sidequests, you can use to change costume, place photo items and choose from variety of poses. I enjoyed the treasure hunts in the game. Basically, another player sends you a picture for a treasure chest, and you have to guess where it is based on the picture. When you're done, you're tasked with taking a picture yourself which will be sent to another random player. I always tried to take good pictures preferably with a landmark or something in the background, but first and foremost I always included Kat with some kind of greeting to the next player. The treasure chest is the apple looking item. Edited January 26, 2017 by Tales
Tales Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I see you are playing the game recently, @Hero\-of\-Time , I hope you like it. I finished the game a while ago of course, but haven't got the platinum yet. I have 97 platinums so far, and plan on making the Gravity Rush's platinum my 100th.

Yeah, it's early days but i've enjoyed what i've played. It's more of the same from the first game, which is a good thing, IMO. Did you play the free DLC yet?
Hero-of-Time Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 I have. It was okay I guess, nothing more. Well, at least it was free.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 I've been playing through the first game on PS4 and I'm quite enjoying it, so far. It's got a nice style about it and I like the whole concept of the game. Controls can be a bit fiddly when you need to be precise. I was doing the Maid's sidequest where you had to move the objects from the front of the house around to the back. It's quite a simple thing to do, but I kept getting frustrated by the controls. I think the problem was that forcefield move with the circle button (which enables you to grab objects) automatically makes you float in the air. So, if you want to get back onto the ground, you need to press an additional button. Due to the tight space you're working in, if your aim is slightly off, you could be walking on any of the walls present. It took me about 5 attempts to do it, due to the controls. Aside from that minor blip, the rest of the game is great. Looking forward to playing more later. Also, everybody should own a space cat (as I've dubbed him) like Dusty.
drahkon Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Seeing this thread pop up I remembered that I have the first game for my Vita. Downloading now
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I had another go at this last night and I really like it. It almost feels like a game you'd find on a Nintendo handheld or on one of their previous systems. I'm enjoying it and I'm looking forward to going at it again later. How does the sequel differ to this game? Are they both extremely similar or is it a nice evolution?

How does the sequel differ to this game? Are they both extremely similar or is it a nice evolution? From the little I've played of the sequel, it dies seem to be more of the same. I loved the first game so this is fine by me but if you are looking for something a little bit more then you may end up feeling a little disappointed. @Tales would be the best person to ask as he has finished both.
Tales Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 (edited) Well there is a new city to explore, new powers to use, amazing photo mode and an online aspect, but other than that is more the same. Half of the story even takes place in the original world. But if you liked the original game I doubt you'd mind. Edited May 1, 2017 by Tales
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 That's good enough for me. I'll put it on my watch list. Having a great time with it now. I've got to grips with the mechanics and controls after struggling a tiny bit at the start.
