Dcubed Posted August 28, 2013 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Putting out SM3DW before DKCTF is a good move. Putting it out on the same day as Zelda ALBW and MPIT in the US is not... A new Mario game is surely more appealling to the general consumer than a DK one. That's exactly why. They were hoping DK would lead the thanksgiving push, but realistically, Mario would. In an ideal world, they'd have Mario Kart 8 on the December 6th day and it'd be just like the 3DS. That combo pushed the console up 11m sales in just 4 months. People like to deride it but the Wii's userbase really helped open people's eyes to certain franchises more. It made Mario Kart and Mario household names again so there will definitely be a push.
