bryanee Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 I watched the super best friends play this. Whilst looking quite good at times it just seemed really poor with cheap deaths, terrible camera (in part due to the shit borders) and lots of jank. I was going to buy it but I think I'm going to wait a while.
Cookyman Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Got this today for £18. Up to chapter 4 and it's very good.
Cookyman Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I finished this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a good lengthy game that's tricky in places too! If you liked Resi 4 you'll love this. 8/10
Ganepark32 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I've got it sitting waiting to be played but I was slightly put off by the start, the bit with the guy with the chainsaw and having to sneak passed him. It just felt a bit too clunky in that instance and really put a downer on it. Got passed that bit and up to where you get your first gun after but haven't been back to it since. Really do need to give it another try as I'm still interested to see how it plays now that I've got weapons and see if it stacks up with the likes of Resi 4. Maybe try setting some time aside next weekend to try my hand at it.
Dog-amoto Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I found the first couple of chapters really hard but if you shoot enemies in the leg then use matches, you'll save a lot of ammo until you find the more powerful weapons.
nekunando Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 There may be talk of a sequel being in development but I finished this game yesterday after 17 hours of play over the last few weeks. I'm relatively surprised by how little discussion there ever was in this thread about a game I had assumed was possibly quite big but it's funny to read through several posts comparing it to Resident Evil 4, a game I love The Evil Within is absolute garbage
S.C.G Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 The Evil Within is absolute garbage I guess I'll just keep that copy I got free with my Xbox One console purchased three and a half years ago sealed then. It's a game which has barely been on my radar, I was considering playing it... at some point when in the mood for a survival-horror-ish title but by the sounds of it, the game is more a horror to play and I could probably survive without playing it. Besides, I still have Resident Evil 7 to go back to... but who knows, one day I might play The Evil Within, I mean... how bad can it be? Surely not as bad as Resident Evil 6 or even worse... Operation Raccoon City.
nekunando Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I might play The Evil Within, I mean... how bad can it be? Surely not as bad as Resident Evil 6 or even worse... Operation Raccoon City. I haven't played either of those games but, for me, The Evil Within was a mess The story was unengaging with characters that are impossible to care about, not least the main protagonist, the gameplay wasn't fun due, in part, to frustration caused by aiming issues and dozens of cheap deaths The whole thing was a large disappointment but one that I felt I may as well persevere with once I got about 6-7 hours in. I hoped it would get better, especially since Michael Huber tweeted me to reassure me that it only gets better.. but it didn't I expect to sell it this week as I don't imagine ever wasting time on it again!
