Finished watching The Residence last night. It was really good! Basically a good old fashioned whodunnit set in the White House. Lots of crazy characters and silly goings on. Randall Park was hilarious (does he play FBI agents in everything?)

I was surprised to find out that Andre Braugher was originally cast as A.B. Wynter, but he passed away halfway through filming. That must have been such a loss to everyone. I thought Esposito did really well, but Braugher would have been great.

My only criticism was that they left a couple of loose ends (the secret service van crashing and the calligrapher) and just never explained them, which was a bit weird. It wasn't the sort of program that left things intentionally vague, so it makes me wonder if they just cut some scenes and forgot?

Finished the final season of You this week. It was a good final season, I enjoyed it. But seriously, what's wrong with Henry, just doing what his parents want all the time, no argument? That's perhaps the most crazy part of this show. :D

He was a restaurant owner and father in Fresh Off the Boat.

And Asian Jim of course.

But he is great. Glad to see him getting more work.

Is Fresh off the Boat good?

I kind of assumed it was mainly aimed at immigrant Americans, and I may not get the humour, but I did enjoy Kim's Convenience.

I'm sure there's some jokes in there that work better if you're Chinese or a Chinese immigrant but it's set in the 90s so there's more humour that millennials will enjoy as the kids are about the age we would have been at the time.

Plus there's even a meta joke about Corrie in there if you look hard enough.

The first season is kind of different from the rest as it focuses on the eldest son as it's based on the memoirs of a real person and he narrates it, kind of like Everybody Hates Chris. But then he fell out with the show so disappears and they make it a bit more about the parents.

The last season is a bit meh as they clearly ran out of gas and famously Constance Wu didn't want to do it, but overall it's a good 7/10 kind of sitcom.
