Wesley Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Hi! So my O2 simplicity plan is going to end in seven days. I pay £15 quid a month for unlimited texts, 300 minutes call time and unlimited internet. The cheapest simplicity plan for an iPhone now is £21.50, and that's with unlimited texts, 600 minutes call time and 500MB a month internet. So... I don't really see why I should be paying £6.50 a month more for... essentially the same thing. While continuing to keep an out-dated iPhone 3G. So... suggestions? I don't mind paying up to around 20 quid... but, a nice new phone would be nice for that price. I saw O2 doing an advert for 20 quid a month and a nice new Windows Phone. But... yeah, I dunno, suggestions? I know O2 are doing a free iPhone 3G3 with 21 quid a month contract that has 100 minutes, 300 texts and 500MB internet. I dunno, tempting, but it's still buying old hat stuff. But maybe limiting myself to 20 quid and a free phone I'll always be doing that?
Cube Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 If you're not bothered about a new phone, you could try PAYG on 3. A £15 top-up gives you unlimited internet, 300 minutes and 3000 texts for 30 days. Which, oddly, is better than their sim-only contracts.
Ten10 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) Samsung Omnia (WP7) at £15.32 on t-mobile: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-samsung-omnia-7-300-mins-n-300-text-n-flexible-booster-15-32-80-topcasback/949262 Also have you considered a sim only deal if you don't mind your iPhone 3G that much? (just thinking of your current investment in the ecosystem) Giffgaff: http://giffgaff.com/index/offer For only £10 get 250 UK minutes, unlimited UK texts and unlimited mobile Internet for one month. Shorty Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) You do not need an "iPhone plan". Any plan will do. Get your handset unlocked if it's not already. O2 will do it for free while you're in a contract. I got mine unlocked by hanging around on the O2 site until a live support window popped up. Call and get your PAC (they are now legally required to provide this within 2 hours) then buy a SIM-only deal elsewhere. GiffGaff: http://giffgaff.com/index/offer £10/month, monthly contract: 250 UK minutes Unlimited UK texts Unlimited Mobile Internet Free calls and texts to giffgaffers They use O2's network so your signal will stay the same. Mr-Paul Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Go to mobiles.co.uk and look around there if you want a new phone. Last July I got a free HTC desire on an orange £25 a month contract, with 9 months free, making it effectively £15 a month. The phone had only been out a couple of months as well.

I have just moved to them, easily the best provider/package I've been able to find. If you can get most the people you call on it, you really need to buy a 5 pound goodybag once every 3 months. It'd be free calls and texts to them over the 3 months.
Wesley Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 What the fuuuuck, never heard of GiffGaff before. Ten squid! That sounds awesome. Thanks for all the helps chaps, but at 10 quid a month I'll definitely stick with my out dated phone.
