Happenstance Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 The Art of Video Games exhibition will explore the 40-year evolution of video games as an artistic medium, with a focus on striking visual effects, the creative use of new technologies, and the most influential artists and designers. We want you to help us select the eighty video games that will be represented in the exhibition. Remember, this is an art exhibition, so be sure to vote for games that you think are visually spectacular or boast innovative design! http://www.artofvideogames.org/ Just about to go through this now and make my votes
Jonnas Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 So, can we vote for an indefinite amount of games? Or is it one game per genre, or maybe one game per system?
Happenstance Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 You can vote for one game per page basically. I think it gives you 3 choices per page so theres 80 pages overall through the various Eras and consoles.
Will Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Had a look through and voted. Some graphically stunning games in there, though I'm not sure they necessarily represent the best each system had to offer. I really like the art of games, been meaning to get some more canvasses made up for my wall.
Shorty Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Voted for many games, but only a few really stood out. Notably Majora's Mask and Grim Fandango.
Jonnas Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Damn, it's been hard, deciding. Ended up voting for Paper Mario, as opposed to any of the Zeldas (because Paper Mario did an entirely new, original style for a known franchise, and was original even for RPG standards). But damn, it was hard passing Majora's Mask. Also, voting for "Rez" has become weird...
Cube Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Strangely, the fist game that popped into my head (based on the use of new technologies) was Star Fox Adventures for it's fur, grass and water effects.
