Jonnas Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Not that I'm pokemon buff or anything, but I very much like the idea of these two. I like that they're version specific, similar yet differing(steel/rock). Out of interest, somewhat related as it spurred the thought, do you ever look at the types and type balancing of pokemon according to the table? Just thought of it looking at these in the event of steel being immune to poison, which as it happens it is(had to look it up tho lol). I don't know what happens in such a situation with a dual type pokemon... The relationship between Poison and Steel is not such a big deal (a Ground/Flying Pokémon actually exists, for example). I'm more concerned on the relationship between Steel and Rock, because Steel has an undisputed advantage over Rock, which kind of undermines their rivalry a bit. Also Rummy, Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire did a similar rivalry, between a viper (Poison) and a mongoose (Normal, but cannot be poisoned)
Rummy Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I was just thinking that surely the rock based is not as good as the steel based, as steel has immunity to poison but rock is susceptible(both are posion type), albeit only 1/2x but it doesn't seem fair. I hadn't even seen steel has a 2x advantage over rock as well! What happens in a circumstance where say, a posion ground pokemon is attacked with a poison attack? Does the 1/2 stack into 1/4 or what? Not that this is very relevant to the thread lol, but I only played red and blue and never took much notice of it.

Yeah, they do stack...hence you get 4x multipliers (and bigger) as well Super effective? More like "I'm-totally-gonna-nuke-your-keister -effective"
Hamishmash Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Tomorrow I'll be posting Harlefin and its evolution. Think Finding Nemo.
gaggle64 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Tomorrow I'll be posting Harlefin and its evolution. Think Finding Nemo. I am now at a point where you posting constitutes a sexual event. Don't be long!

However to fish, the bright colours are incredibly terrifying, even for some large predators." 044 Swiminfool Water / Psychic The Clown Fish Pokemon "Swiminfools often try and perform for their predators in order to buy their freedom. However, their strange, underwater dances are so funny, that often their predators suffocate from laughing so much."
Diageo Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I didn't know fish could suffocate from laughing. But I love the designs.
Hamishmash Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 I didn't know fish could suffocate from laughing. But I love the designs. I'm guessing just from exhaustion. AND IT'S POKEMON! :P
Hamishmash Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Opinions on the Treetank redesign?
Ellmeister Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Could you post up the before image? Just for comparison sake?
Ellmeister Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Now I can safely say it looks much better! Thanks for doing that :p
Hamishmash Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Alright final redesign. I was never that happy with Pobearian, especially after I saw the amazing polar bear Pokemon in Black and White, so I changed him to be more of a snow-ape, yeti thing (and yes I know there's also an yeti-like Pokemon but I think mine looks different enough). This redesign is a bit more radical, but I don't care, didn't like the original design.
Hamishmash Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 http://spune.deviantart.com/art/045-Femury-198554152 Evolves from Marowak if given a fossil to hold. 044 Femury Ground / Rock The Bone Keeper Pokemon Femury uses strange fossils as shields and armour. They are often seen to make nests out of bones and skeletons. Made because Cubone is my favourite Pokemon, but I really don't like Marowak that much.
Jonnas Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Hmmm.... That doesn't really feel like a Marowak evolution... More like an alternative Cubone evolution.
Hamishmash Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Hmmm.... That doesn't really feel like a Marowak evolution... More like an alternative Cubone evolution. It's a lot bigger than a Marowak, if that makes a difference.
ReZourceman Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 THAT IS BLOODY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jonnas Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 It's a lot bigger than a Marowak, if that makes a difference. No, I just meant the design. It looks a lot more like Cubone than with Marowak. I think it would've worked better as an alternative evolution (a la Vileplume & Bellossom) I mean, it is an awesome design, it's just the "Marowak Evolution" part that's bugging me.
