Happenstance Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Can anyone recommend any good video game books? Im thinking maybe ones to do with the industry etc not fiction based on actual games. Ive just found myself in the mood to read some but dont know where to begin or whats supposed to be good on the little my search turned up.
Oxigen_Waste Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Also, a couple of people have recommended this to me, but I've never read it:
Ashley Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Game Over is great...but costs more than an average video game last time I checked. I may be able to dig out some theoretical approaches if that's what you want. If not...screw you.
flameboy Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Yeah gameover is awesome...I got a copy free with some magazine or other a few years back. Other gaming books I have and recommend are: I paid less than a tenner for both...
Oxigen_Waste Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Glad to see the love spread for Game Over. Anyway, I don't think it was very expensive, last I checked. I bought it for about 11£ over at book depository a year back. It's out of stock now, but I think it was a fair price, given the product.
martinist Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Be prepared...this thing is huge. Starts just before the birth of video games and ends around the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube era
Happenstance Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Aw yeah. Yeah I had the Sonic versions of those, twere awesome.

flameboy Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Just to say I have properly started reading Fun Inc. and it is a great read highly recommend it.
