Can anyone recommend any good video game books? Im thinking maybe ones to do with the industry etc not fiction based on actual games. Ive just found myself in the mood to read some but dont know where to begin or whats supposed to be good on the little my search turned up.

Game Over is great...but costs more than an average video game last time I checked.

I may be able to dig out some theoretical approaches if that's what you want.

If not...screw you.

Yeah gameover is awesome...I got a copy free with some magazine or other a few years back.

Other gaming books I have and recommend are:

I paid less than a tenner for both...

Glad to see the love spread for Game Over. Anyway, I don't think it was very expensive, last I checked. I bought it for about 11£ over at book depository a year back. It's out of stock now, but I think it was a fair price, given the product.

Be prepared...this thing is huge. Starts just before the birth of video games and ends around the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube era

I saw this once at a friend's. Seemed cool. How good/accurate/impartial is it?
