Emasher Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I have a hard time seeing western militaries using this for combat purposes. If your soldiers don't have fear, they're going to take a lot more chances, and you're going to loose more soldiers, possibly good soldiers. Playing it safe might be slower, but if the military was interested in removing fear, they'd probably be doing it already through propaganda and culture like the Japanese did back during the second world war, and terrorist organizations do today.
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 If it can erase memories. Then perhaps it can implant them. After 10 seconds we can say "I know kung fu" and actually mean it. Or get our ass to Mars.
Guy Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 If it can erase memories. Then perhaps it can implant them. After 10 seconds we can say "I know kung fu" and actually mean it. Or get our ass to Mars. The saddest thing is the brilliance of this will be lost on so many. Sorry, everyone. This is the best post this year, hands down.
Paj! Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Not really. Anyone can quote/reference Total Recall.
Guy Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Not really. Anyone can quote/reference Total Recall. You're just sad you didn't get in there first.
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 How to remove fear? Easy. Staap whining. I would love to be able to remove the thought process which makes me panicky around rodents. They are my one and only weakness. My Kryptonite. Although, it's good to have fear. You'll get a buzz when you finally conquer it.
Ashley Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I...really don't think any of you know what you're talking about. Mass ignorance on an internet forum? Well I'll be! If it can erase memories. Then perhaps it can implant them. After 10 seconds we can say "I know kung fu" and actually mean it. Or get our ass to Mars. The saddest thing is the brilliance of this will be lost on so many. Sorry, everyone. This is the best post this year, hands down. Everyone knows where that's from! Right?
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Not really. Anyone can quote/reference Total Recall. And The Matrix. If you're going to bitch about it. Do it properly.
