Mr_Odwin
Not with that deal by the looks. Probs add on an extra fiver for Internet.
dwarf
I'm in desperate need of a new phone, and I need to request it quickly before my Birthday. I guess I could make it any phone with a decent contract for £10 or less a month. But a reasonably good one.
Mr_Odwin
HTC Wildfire on 3 pay as you go. £190 for handset and £10 top up gives all sorts of freebies each month.
McPhee
Orange San Fransisco on PAYG. A beast of a handset for a hundred quid! Some say it's better than the Wildfire (it's certainly spec'd better, just lacks SenseUI).
Mr_Odwin
Truth. But 3 PAYG includes free Internet, while orange will bleed your wallet dry MB by MB.
Cube
Had a look at a few reviews, and this is apparently a good cheap phone: http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/SAMSUNG-I5500-EUROPA-TMOB-WEB10?portal=FROOGLE&promo=PROMOCODE&istItemId=prmrwxr&istBid=t&istCompanyId=2e5adc12-73b1-415d-bf2d-a67908a31fdf £99.99 for the phone on T-Mobile. A £10 top-up gets you 500MB of internet for a month (plenty) and free texts for a month (It doesn't specify how much, but it sounds like unlimited). Not sure how good T-Mobile are, but it's a possible option.
MadDog
HTC Wildfire on 3 pay as you go. £190 for handset and £10 top up gives all sorts of freebies each month. You can get the Wildfire on Vodafone Here for £130.
Mr_Odwin
Vodafone's PAYG is expensive. Don't think they do "free" gifts. Edited October 28, 2010 by Mr_Odwin
Cube
If you're not going to get internet then I wouldn't risk getting an Android. They're rather keen to connect to 3G.

Not sure that can be beaten. Can I refer you tho? Points means prizes (or free credit rather). So so so much thanks to McPhee for this. On Saturday I bought this phone (Orange San Francisco/ZTE Blade). I unlocked it, following the advice in the linked thread, stuck in a t-mobile sim, rooted it and debranded it. That forum is a goldmine of information. So now I have a nice Android phone (literally amazing for £100) on PAYG with t-mobile. Internet is £5 per month or £20 for 6 months. Some quirks still need ironing out (can't send MMS messages yet), but I love tinkering so that's cool.
