ReZourceman Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I don't want to do the "buy from Argos and return after holiday" technique as it wouldn't feel right (but lol....) Anyway, I hear you can download maps from TomTom or Garmin's official websites and such. I have found one and have paid and am downloading now. Has anyone else taken their Sat Nav abroard? Do you think I'll be okay. Once I've stuck the SD card in my Garmin Nuvi, will I be able to check it has North America on it? I will of course try this when its done, but thought I'd ask first anyway.
Retro_Link Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Could you not just get one with your rental car?
Shorty Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) I assume once you've updated the maps you can just try and get to an American address and you'll know if it works. Mind you, it might have some precautions regarding the drive through the north atlantic. This thread tells me that you are a very impatient man. Also, *moves to tech* Edited August 18, 2010 by Shorty

Charlie Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Yeah, i can see it being "take a left at the Ice-berg and continue South" Google Maps has this as a small Easter Egg.
MoogleViper Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Why the hell do you have to swim to france?
ReZourceman Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Why the hell do you have to swim to france? Better question is why does anyone ever have to go to France.
