Razz Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I genuinely love both of these, but in different ways. I'm going with Alanis because it's just better to me. More replay value and less forgettable, as in a few years down the line I probably won't even remember who Temper Trap are, whereas I've loved Alanis for many a year already. Both very good songs.
Paj! Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 While the first bit of Sweet Disposition is so evocative of greatness, and it was good in the context of 500 Days of Summer, it wears off. The verses/monotonously shouted bits kinda kill it for me. I like it, but Alanis for me.
Ashley Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Its pretty much like voting for Lib Dem but Temper Trap. Yeah, Alanis' song is better/longer staying power/how I imagine someone's soul sounds while having a really unpleasant period but whatever.
chairdriver Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Uninvited is in my top 10 favourite/best songs. It's just so big. Has impervious. It reminds me of an absolutely convergent series. So obviously great it's absolutely great. Sweet Disposition is good, but I'm so bored. I'm so bored of everything to do with 500 Days Of Summer.
dan-likes-trees Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Dunno why everyone's linking it to 500DoS considering it was utterly everywhere you looked last summer. Anyway I'm going for Temper Trap 'cos I lurve it. AM sounds like, too epic for it's own good. Hate me.
weeyellowbloke Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hmmm, Temper Trap seemed to just wash past with little impact on me. Think I'll plumb for Alanis, in spite of the video featuring Nicholas Cage making very strange expressions.
chairdriver Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 AM sounds like, too epic for it's own good. Hate me. I know what you mean, but bear in mind it stuns more when you look at context and realise that Alanis is actually not a shite. Listen to this, and be stunned. Uninvited just feels like "Now's the time. I have been good, I will be great."
Ashley Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Lets face it, Paj is as good at keeping to dates as Nintendo in the 90's.
