trisha
i think i did. as dixons group (currys, pc world, dixons & the link) dumped the cube a couple of years ago, where did this stock come from that they can sell so low?
Kurtle Squad
Fuck knows!!! I'm gonna look it up right now!! ...Well there's nothing on the website. The main part of the gaming bit that isn't trying to flog cheap stuff is PSP, 360 & DS....And to my amusement the PSP advert says "at last It's HERE", although the PSP has been out nearly 3 months now. And I think that the slogan "entertainment without boundaries" for the PSP is quite retarded...There are obviously boundaries.
trisha
i think it was in store only. there were adverts in the papers for currys at the weekend it might have been £35. depends what half price is these days for a standalone cube. and i wonder what they are buying them at, as they didnt want to stock them and have no support for the machine (like games or bits)
Kurtle Squad
Oh right....maybe it's some stock from some other small chain dropping the Cube then?!...Or Nintendo had some?! They always end up with bzillions of extra stuff.
trisha
perhaps nintendo sent them a create of them free with the DS they sell and just said "keep them!"
khilafah
i been told comet are selling them for £25 also.
Locky
See this thread on MoneySavingExpert for more info. I doubt you'll find many left in shops though cos people have been snapping them up for a couple of days now.
trisha
i wonder if nintendo have dumped the stock? they said they would do something with the price didnt they? still, if nintendo had dumped stock to currys and comet, two shops who did not stand by nintendo if i was game etc i would kick all their stuff out of my shop. so that would suggest it wasnt nintendo, but who ? either way, it takes a lot for comet or currys to restock something they wont be backing up, therefore i assume it is someone with some clout. or has nintendo given the free for all on price, and game etc are being grredy by not passing it on? i was tempted just because i need a back up controller, and for £10 more i get a spare gamecube! Josh64
WOW! I can't believe its that cheap! This is unbelieable, if that was the official price they could do a bundle with Zelda when it comes out, with the cube so cheap nintendo might beable to get rid of a few more GC's and hopefully bring the cube back to life. But 30 quid! thats the cheapest ive seen a console thats still having new releases!
|Laguna|
Well, in today Mirror I saw a Currys or Comet advert for a Gamecube for 25 quid. Apparently Nintendo are now letting retailers price gamecubes at whatever they see fit.
trisha
well absolutely no one has an excuse not to own a gamecube and the few "awesome" games they missed. but it really shows how badly the cube sold. it must nearly be worth £25 for the scrap parts! AshMat
On the ads for Super Smash Footy it says exclusive pack for around 89.99 or something like that, so these shops are selling dirt cheap. Oh well, at least its gonna shift the last batch of them

trisha
i just saw the controller is £25 alone. but what else is currys selling? i mean they dumped the games 2 years ago so what have they done bought a load in? they must have got the machines for nothing. why would they sell a machine for say £10 profit, if they dont have anything to sell with it, and that person buys it instead of a xbox360, a game and a spare controller. and they risk annoying their customers when they turn round and say "sorry we dont support the platform at all try another shop" i would love to know where they got their stock from. actually, why are there so many 51block memory packs for sale, nintendo stopped making them years ago too. forget the eu food mountain, there is obviously cubecity built somewhere with all the unsold stock
