Grazza Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Was it that long ago that it was called NOM? NMS is the true "I used to buy it many years ago" acronym you want to be referring to when you try to hark back to ye olde beginning of time. Hey, I bought the first issue of NMS! Lethal Weapon 3 on the cover, free Game Boy keyring... The people who made the list do seem to have a bias towards multiplayer Mario Kart action (surely the only explanation for thinking Mario Kart: Double Dash is better than Metroid: Zero Mission?!)
Guest Captain Falcon Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Here's a thought. I'll bold it for a bit of fun for anyone to try answer: Justify in under 100 words how anyone with a sane mind could rate Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (2 places above) and Pilotwings 64 (15 places above) higher than Goldeneye. Because they like golf games a little more than first person shooters and flying sims much more than first person shooters. 21 words and no abbreviations - what do I win? If it's a job working for ONM though, you can keep it

Emasher Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I'm curious what this list would look like if they went by average review scores rather than personal opinion.
mcj metroid Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 sure fuck it i'll write out my own 100 list from the ones mentioned.
Guest Captain Falcon Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I'm curious what this list would look like if they went by average review scores rather than personal opinion. Well if they went by average review scores, it wouldn't be ONM's top 100 Nintendo games now would it? Maybe gamerankings could give you an approximation, though older titles they won't have as many reviews for would have slightly skewed entries.
Emasher Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I was just saying it would be interesting to see what that list looked like, I wasn't saying they should have done it that way.

Guest Captain Falcon Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Well it's definitely a better list than ONM's, I'll give you that.

Lol, class. NMS was cool with Seal and all that silly stuff. It was great back in those drab days before the Internet when hints, tips and games news was so scarce! (PS Double Dash is better than Zero Mission.)

Pookiablo Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I really think Perfect Dark should be much higher up in that list - that game was perhaps the definite N64 experience. Never has a game done so much on one console.
