The best moments of Twilight Princess

Recommended Posts

Justice must prevail... This is coming from someone who has sold his Wii... But yet is quiet missing this game fairly much. TP is being shunned on a daily basis here; its like we talk about it as we talk about an ex - forgetting all the goods things just to justify the 'dumping'.

This topic is about your favourite moments in the game, please don't post if you don't have any. :)

My best moments:

*Swimming in Lake Hylia and diving with the Zora Armour.

*Zora Armour - Just beautiful and almost inspirational.

*Gerudo Desert Moblin raid.

*The epic feeling of the Sky temple and Argorok.

*Night Hyrule Theme - so beautiful.

*Flashbacks and the return of the gods creation story (which were both missing in WW).

*Flashback scene; you know the one.

*Howling wolf and training segments.

*Looking close up at the beauty of the Zoras and their domain.

*Feeling the sense of 'culture' with the Gorons.

*The Rapid boat ride music... Only in a Zelda.

*All the bosses and sub bosses were cool.

Its probably now the nostalgia thing kicking in... But no doubt TP was a beautiful game and could never be generic.

What appropriate timing ^^

To youtube! Also spoilers, duh.

This one is pure awesome on all levels. Fantastic direction.

I love this one, because it really shows the relationship between characters effectively with a few expressions.

No words :P

OK dont feel like searching for more videos :P

Everything you said King too.

-Fishing was so awesome, the fishing hole was relaxing as hell it was great to just lose yourself in there listening to that great music trying to get a bigger fish. And the different seasons inside it were a great touch, it looked beautiful when it was filled with "sakuras".

-Sumo wrestling with Gorons! Throwing goats! Link is a real man damnit!

-Sword lessons. Wow. Just... sweeet.

-Shooting Guays that were basically in the opposite side of the world and actually hitting them. Brilliant.

-Stallord. Dear Lord! One of the best bosses ever.

-Malo's mart. Pure Nintendo cookyness.

-Sheathing the sword like a badass. I know, it's just a detail. But it's awesome.

-Midna. Everything about her.

-Ganon. Damn. Brilliant design. They actually made him look like a pig (boar) without looking ridiculous. Same goes for Ganondorf's design. Sweet.

-Zant. Badass and creepy at first, which was cool, but nothing unseen but then going nuts. Thumbs up

-Hitting a moblin with a single arrow while riding the horse at the speed of light.

-Getting the Master Sword and just being in the ruins of the Temple of Time in the middle of the forest. It just felt great to see the connections to other games.

-Defending the cart from attackers, that was damn sweet.

Hell I could go on all day :P

King, that's not nostalgia kicking in, it's wisdom and the Zelda Cycle . :P

The credits LOLOLO

Nah, the best bit for me would be that optional several-floor dungeon (forget the name) or finally getting out of the first town, because I hated it so much. :heh:

Aww man... I agree, I AGREE!

That sheathing the sword action was so brilliant, I went to fight enemies just to see it. Its especially cool with that mortal blow and the little tune that plays with it...<3

And Zant was just brilliant. They could have easily just went with a simple badass, but its always great when they create the character of a character with a sense of meaning - the experiences that Zant went through would obviously make most mindsets turn into something bizarre, and it was great the way they showcased it; in a uniquely Zelda manner.

I think you're right Hellfire, this is just me re-appreciating a gem that we have long left to the side because as a large adventure game its not easy to get back in to. The first time I got my Wii and my TP, I was up till dawn and at that moment as I was about to go to bed in the morning, I just fell so happy as if my life had been complete.

oh and that huge dragon, that one felt epic as

Yeah, I liked how the atmosphere went from being overcast/cloudy to rain and thunder in the next stage.

Well the trolls were fast to show up. Much love King :)

Yeah...:/ It is disappointing that in a thread built for the sake of conjouring positivity, negative or covert negative views just had to be had... Love right back atcha, brother.

It's a pretty game, it looks quite beautiful in places and namely on the whole. I must say, I rather liked some of the new items, the freshness of them. I do apologise I have bones to pick though, simply being pretty or good looking is not enough in a game for me, and I just wish they'd made the items more...applicable! I felt rather that each item had it's application to, and just shortly after, the dungeon it was found in, only to later not require much further use. I think the game had a pretty nice storyline too though.

Gotta be the Ball & Chain and Spinner items; criminally underused in Twilight Princess. :( Midna is probably one of the best supporting characters in any game ever too. :D

Midna's so awesome, so deserves a game of her own.

The big dragon in Sky Town too was immense.

And I personally found the hidden village awesome to play; just had a genuine Wild West atmosphere, which was a nice change. That, and windows which were quite fun to smash :D

EVerything mentioned here. Midna was, and still is, brilliant. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing a game set in the Twilight Realm with you taking control of her or someone else; as an offshot of the Zelda series. Would work well as the two realms exist both together and as separate.

The Hidden Village was brilliant. Such a wild west feel to it. One of the bits I enjoyed doing the most.

The first time you get the ride over Hyrule field is breath taking. Even more so when you can ride over the entire thing and take it all in. Looking down from the Hylia bridge at the lake and everything below is just awe-inspiring.

The lead up to the Snow place with the racing of the Yeti. Both beautiful and brilliantly done. And that was one of the best dungeons. Funny at the end when the two yetis get back together. Thnx for all the hearts :heh:

Nice to reminise about this game. A lot of people talk ill of it because it was just a port of the GC version, but with a flipped world and waggle controls but I loved it. Seeing as I have the day off, I may play it some more. On my third run through. In the Zora temple.

Scrambling over the castle rooftops in the Twilight realm as Wolfy Link was magical. In fact, the twilight realm in general was incredibly well done. The visual effects and the music were outstanding. They captured perfectly a realm that was both familiar and hauntingly alien at the same time.

New items, like Darkspine said. It was great to have really unique different items for once. They were a blast to use.

Boss Room Calm - the music that played in the room with the heart container after defeating a boss. It's so peaceful and relaxing, I could listen to it for hours.

I started playing on December 8th 2006...i still havn't finished it, i'm incredibly close to though.

-the fishing hole and finally catching a Hilyan Loach after about an hour of casting.

-collecting all of those golden bugs

-the boss of the goron mines

-Running through castle town as a wolf and scaring the crap out of everyone

-The monkeys of the forest temple

i loved it, it got alot of flack for not living up to our insane expectations, but i loved it none the less.

*epicness. who could forget the bridge joust with the sun setting?

*epona. letting you sword on horseback was great.

*looks. one of the wii's best looking games and its a cube port. i actualy think it holds it own against some 360/ps3 games that are trapped in the uncanny vally.

*bosses. snow temple and temple of time asside, a great collection of bosses, particular love to the epic water boss.

*the very final battle. been waiting for that since space world 2000!

*little touches. many slate tp for having bland characters and the little things being missing. i dont get this. the whole of orin village was full of excentrics, from the poor guy spurned by his wife for a cat to the lovable mayor. all made me smile. look around any home and see the personal touches, childrens pictures, a family pet. love went into this.

So I'm not allowed to say I enjoyed finishing it?..

Did I say it was crap? No. Did I slate the game in any other way? No. I just said I couldn't get into it, and one of my best moments was actually finishing the game. It would have been a crime to own a Zelda game without finishing it.

If it keeps you happy, I really enjoyed the cutscene where Link comes bursting round the corner on his horse. That was pretty cool.

I agree with this so much! I know I did sort of mention it in my last post, but I just wish they'd done more! They were excellent items, I especially loved the ball and chain(and the way you randomly sort of got it after killing that dood), but felt it lacking later on. The dominion rod would have been good for uncovering some secrets placed around the world(i thought the statues were, but then they ALL turned out to just be part of the main quest :(). Something I DID like about the items were the new bombs, water bombs and those little scuttlebombs, forgot their proper name, along with the return option to combine them with the bow and arrow! I didn't like the Bow and Arrow as much as I used to though, as fun/wii-tweaked the new aiming system was, I was a dab hand with it in OoT and MM and it felt much more satisfying sniping guays with it in Lake Hylia than in TP. I gotta agree horseback fighting was excellent though, and there WERE some pretty damn good bosses in the game!

-Using the pointer for projectile weapons and inventory management

-the musics

-most of the dungeons and boss battles were top notch

-the fight with big G (hey i liked it...)

-the escort mission

-the retro sound effects

Great game and i cant think of any dungeions that i would dread to replay ala OoT's Water Temple or WW's Wind Temple

Finished the Water Temple again earlier. Such a good boss battle. Wish it had gone on longer though, same with the others as it's only 3 chains of hits and their down. Love the shear size of the room though when the water drains. Feel very small standing in there. Now standing in the desert waiting for me to continue. Considering trying to finish it today in about 8 or 9 hours. Be difficult but I reckon it's doable.

Troll post, however you look it at it and I'm free to say it is. Let's not mess this thread up, King created it with such love.

You should have bought it when it was new! And it's 2nd birthday. And you can probably find it cheap. And that's a terrible excuse.

:P

Edit: ooh ooh, the arrow sound coming from the speaker! That was awesome.
