dwarf Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I try not to be, please forgive! I'm not the typical type because if I think anything is shit (ala Home - excluding Xi) I will be the first to say.
Choze Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) Home is coming along quite well now. Use all 3 regions Home and there is good content being tested in each. The Star Trek promotion stuff like speaking with the cast was cool. Lots more games and events now. I am guessing MAG will have Home features. I am wondering how vehicles are handled. So far its abit vague. But there i always e3. Edited May 5, 2009 by Choze
Daft Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I try not to be, please forgive! I'm not the typical type because if I think anything is shit (ala Home - excluding Xi) I will be the first to say. Ha!! I was joking. We all know the real rabid cretinous fanboys own the Wii board. I like Home. It's slowly getting better. It's already a crap load better than when it launched, what, half a year ago?
dwarf Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I think until the whole thing is made seamless and quicker it's not going to work. And I don't think the loading screens can be helped. To get my attention they will have to restrict the loading times, make sure that if you press a button to play something it does play and also make sure that there isn't overcrowding. If they intice you with a little minigame like bowling then at least you shouldn't have to wait. It's pathetic. And iron out the camp run... Christ it's amazing you get anywhere at all in Home. I go on occasionally to see if I can piss people off, draw attention to myself by being a tosser and generally offending, like saying 'Is your dad a baker? Because you have nice buns!' to every female avatar. Yes childish but I have cheap pleasures.

The whole reason of loading is to maximise the amount of online people in an area i think. For trvael you can teleport. Yes its still a huge work in progress but something like Home cant work with out a huge amount of time of testing etc. Its a completely new idea. Your cheap pleasures may land you in trouble. :p
Daft Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 And iron out the camp run... There's an easy fix for that. Be a woman. The run in Mass Effect is the campest run I've ever seen and since you're looking at your character's butt for 90% of the game while running around it's f*cking annoying. Especially after playing Assassin's Creed where the animation is perfect.
dwarf Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Tube me. But it's just the arm positioning which appears to undermine the straight people out there!
Daft Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Tube me. But it's just the arm positioning which appears to undermine the straight people out there! Skip past the hour long lift ride...
dwarf Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Oh dear. That's bad. Almost as cringey was the clearly artificial akwardness of the silence during the lift sequence.
Daft Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Oh dear. That's bad. Almost as cringey was the clearly artificial akwardness of the silence during the lift sequence. Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction after my first couple steps. At least they were moving a large distance in that lift ride. Some lifts only go up or down a floor and take roughly the same time. I think Mass Effect is the most overrated game this gen. It's just not that good.
dwarf Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Nice cartoon. I remember making the original thread for it but under a different username, which was way before I ever thought about buying what Sony had to offer. It was because I was thinking about getting a 360 at the time. I was a Wii-boy back then lol.
Choze Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 Squad leaders cant set objectives for a squad. e.g blow up bridge, defend building etc. So your radar and HUD will change accordingly. Objectives will earn points. Everyone has access to a CNI (Command Network Interface) so they can plan out and discuss or see what to do next. Sounds good. Game types range from Team Deathmatch, escorts, sabotage to domination May I ask what that explains? Just saying. Alot of people here are very Nintendo based. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/05/06/mag-live-chat-with-zipper-interactive/ live chat is on. Ask questions.
McPhee Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I think Mass Effect is the most overrated game this gen. It's just not that good. I'm not the only one then? TBH i'm not sure what it was for me. Maybe the very, very bland enviroments?
Choze Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Havent checked anything yet but its on the show floor. Hard game to demo.
Daft Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 MAG Official Release Date Revealed MAG has been rumored to have been pushed back to 2010. The official release date has finally been revealed. Are the rumors of a “massive” delay true? Unfortunately yes, MAG will be joining the ever-growing list of games not making it during 2009. Just revealed on the official PS.Blog, MAG will be launching it’s 256-player warfare come January 26, 2010. As sad as it is to see the title get delayed into next year. The extra time will allow for added polish and server stress testing. As well as it not getting overshadowed by the major releases coming this holiday season. http://playstationlifestyle.net/2009/08/14/mag-official-release-date-revealed/ Still not sure about this one. Anyway, amazing start to 2010.
MATtheHAT Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 It seems no one is willing to take a risk releasing a game around the same time as Modern Warfare 2. Its a shame really because as much as I love the franchise, I really wanted to play this, amongst others too.
Daft Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I think it's fair enough to delay MAG. At a casual glance it looks very similar to MW2. The whole 256 players is an exciting prospect. I'm cautiously excited.
Choze Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Its for the best. Last year was tough with too many big games released at the same time. SCEE literally has two games a week at one point. With their marketing budget fewer releases are better. Edited August 14, 2009 by Choze
Cookyman Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Its for the best. Last year was tough with too many big games released at the same time. I dunno - the amount of quality titles now delayed till next year is rapidly growing. If this carries on the only big games coming out this year will be Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2
Cookyman Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 *cough*Assassin's Creed 2*cough* Yeah thats true - still not on my must haves list yet - still praying GT5 comes out before xmas!
