dwarf Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Glad to hear it. I'm actually glad they made the campaign slightly shorter because the other one did drag on. Anyone having trouble with getting into a game on the beta? I think it may have ended cause when I press 'Find Game' now it doesn't work. Scratch that it's working now.
Sheikah Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Looking forward to this game a lot, now. I never understood the hype around Killzone, since the first game was actually rather poor. If the demo is out for it then perhaps it has undergone a big change.
flameboy Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Glad to hear Left 4 Dead isn't too good, I am gutted it's not coming to PS3 but reassuring to hear how poor it is...I think R2's co-op in the beta is stellar. EDIT IGN's review is up. I've strayed away from the review as don't want spoil the single player....so here is summary off metacritic... 95 IGN The single player is epic in scope and in story, which is practically worth the price of admission by itself. Then you throw in the extremely engaging co-op and competitive play, which expands on replayability in just about every way possible. Toss in a generous number of unlockables, trophies and community support, and you've got a phenomenal experience.
flameboy Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 BUMP! http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/22382 Really good episode of the 1up Show. Good footage of single player as well as some good comments on the awesome co-op...
dwarf Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 Just to remind everyone that this game comes out on the 28th this month. Just 2 weeks!
flameboy Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Cannot wait, really gonna get into the online. Even considering rushing the story on easy not something i have done before.. but I've heard the enemies still have that annoying tendency to shoot at you before they can even see you, so you come round a corner and are already getting plastered with fire, something that made even normal pretty tough in Fall of Man.
dwarf Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 Yeah I struggled with multiple sections in normal, hopefully they have toned it down a little (at least the campaign is slightly shorter. First time through I'm gonna do it on hard so that I don't have to complete it 2 times before trying 'superhuman' or whatever it is.

Ah I hate when enemies can do that. Hopefully it should still be good though.
dwarf Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 Aw no below is the official European boxart for the game. It's pretty bad, I might choose to buy the limited edition one because it looks so much better.
flameboy Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I like this one; Which is the one game are using on their website and I personally think it is pretty cool...
dwarf Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 I think it's too cliched the good vs evil thing and it isn't even detailed. In the second one Hale looks badass.
Sheikah Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Yeah, Fable II has done exactly the same thing, with the split down the middle of the page and the upside down evil guy: I still think that the box art looks better visually, though.
MATtheHAT Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I knew Edge were a bit.....well.....dodgy, but jeezus, a 6!!! http://www.edge-online.com/magazine/review-resistance-2
flameboy Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I knew Edge were a bit.....well.....dodgy, but jeezus, a 6!!! http://www.edge-online.com/magazine/review-resistance-2 I read this yday couldn't believe it! I think the multiplayer elevates it to atleast a 7/10. 6 is average and there is no way this game is average.
flameboy Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Yeah beta was really good....My GAME order is being picked and packed woot woot!
dwarf Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Roflmao. The beta was worth a 7 alone. Christ, Edge must be the worst magazine ever.
flameboy Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Roflmao. The beta was worth a 7 alone. Christ, Edge must be the worst magazine ever. Harsh, they do great features but their elitetist review scores leave a lot to be desired.
Aimless Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I just read the review and it seemed both fair and in-line with what I've heard from elsewhere. A lot of places are making exactly the same complaints, but when it comes to giving out a number they clearly feel compelled to give the game an 8 on account of there being so much content in there, or simply because of the hype behind the game; if this game was No-Name Shooter X would you even be commenting on the score?
Aimless Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Ironically, I actually do have it pre-ordered. I should get it tomorrow so I'll be sure to chime in with my impressions.
Deathjam Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I just read the review and it seemed both fair and in-line with what I've heard from elsewhere. To some, like me, this game is "No-Name Shooter X". Just realised I don't own a single shoot-em-up on the PS3 and I don't plan on getting one till Killzone really =/
Aimless Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 This is actually quite a bit better than I was expecting. It's not going to set the world alight, but it's certainly a much better designed FPS than Fall of Man and the combat is far more enjoyable; things actually flinch when you shoot them now, and the weapons feel a lot more... purposeful. The plot appears to be absolute rubbish, and it completely undermines the actually-quite-interesting groundwork laid down in the periphery of the first game: the Cloven are explained away in a sentence, and there's absolutely no sense of mystery. Visually things seem to cartwheel between looking rather good and being a horrible splatter of weirdly lit colours; some parts are technically impressive, but other areas could be from an original Xbox game if you squinted a bit. So, it's alright. Definitely a better game than the original, and if you're after a fairly dumb shooter than you could do a lot worse. In fact I'm actually enjoying it more than Gears of War 2, although I'm not sure why exactly.
Sheikah Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 If it's 'definitely' better than the original then it must be A*. The original had fantastic gameplay, which I judge over storyline since just about all FPS storylines are poor anyway. Campaign as well- not so bothered by it. Online is where it's at.
flameboy Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 My copy arrived yesterday but I was at work till 10 and about go back out to work again now so likely won't play until 2moro night or Sunday.
dwarf Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 I really need this game now, how have I not got it?
flameboy Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Whose up for some co-op play either side of the footie tomorrow?
