Might just be my bond fan coming out, but i shall be keeping a good eye on this now! EDIT: Just thought this game is coming out around the time gears of war 2 is..... This game may not get a look in for awhile then...

Cube Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Just tried out the PC demo. TBH, it's an awful demo. Mainly because they've chosen a two minute (literally) section of what looks like the dullest level in the game. The short section plays like a cool mix of CoD4 (obviously) and GoW, but there really isn't enough to get a decent opinion on the game. 360 Achievements here. I just hope the consoles get a better demo. I would also like to find out more about the online mode.

With the release date being so close to other amazing games that are coming out i might not get this for awhile, but prob will give it a go at some point.
ViPeR Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I've been following the development of this closely too. It looks good graphically, so it's really how the gameplay and multiplayer hold up. Looks like they've really paid attention to detail with the level structure in comparison to the films. That, in my opinion, was why Goldeneye was so good because it really made you feel like being in the film. I'm hoping on the multiplayer more than anything, and considering it's Treyarch they can't fuck it up. The Arcade mode sounds like classic Goldeneye

ViPeR Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I got it today. Had a quick run through in multi player, don't want to do much single player as I haven't seen the film yet. I'm enjoying it so far, it's very Goldeneye like in many ways (would only be able to describe what exactly to die hard Goldeneye fans) and it even has Facility as a map. The cover system is actually pretty cool too.

You can easily tell its using the CoD4 engine, so slick. Just playing through the single player now, seems a little boring to be honest, don't know whether thats me just being a little washed out from all the shooting games I have bought recently. I did not buy it for the single player mind.....

The first couple of levels are nothing special, but then it becomes good, very good. How similar is the multiplayer to CoD4? Very similar, the whole infrustructure is the same. The way you find games ect. I can't see a ranking system as such, it looks like you earn credits in multiplayer to buy weapons/items/gadgets/perks. There is the obligatory deathmatch and team deathmatch, and also a few interesting objective based games. 'Golden Gun' mode is fun, similar to the Goldeneye version, whoever has the Golden Gun can kill people with one hit. Although they are always shown on the radar. If you like CoD4, you will like this.

How the hell do you get past cameras without setting them off? As for multiplayer even though it's the CoD4 engine it plays a lot different, enough to separate itself as its own game in my opinion. Unlike CoD: WaW which looks exactly the same except being set in WW2.

I found it not long after I asked that question haha. I'm loving the Casino Royale part of the game more as i've actually seen the film several times. Don't know and don't want to know much about QoS until i've seen it.
