ReZourceman Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 All comments encouraged. Also, which is better.
Shorty Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Not bad dude, but I think there's a bit too much thigh going on in both. Also I think there needs to be something in the abdominal area to give a sense of dimension, because right now that area around the the logo looks a bit flat, maybe some subtle shading to show muscles or something? But hey, it's better than I could do, I can't draw for shit. The eyes, teeth and tongue look cool - and the veiny bits. Plus Venom is my favourite Spidey enemy. Oh and I can barely see a difference in the two... the second one has slightly lighter highlights right? I think I prefer the first.
rokhed00 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Looks like a constipated contortionist trying to clear his blockage,
Emasher Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 The logo looks messed up. Plus both look identical. And the purple should be darker.
ReZourceman Posted April 23, 2008 Author Posted April 23, 2008 Looks like a constipated contortionist trying to clear his blockage, Lol! Ever read Spider-man comics? How are they different!? The colouring is different (And Is essentially the main thing I want criticism on, seeing as I know Im not a good enough artist, but I may need to colour) the top one is more blurred. Thanks for the comments fellas, keep em coming. Oh yeah and I agree it does need to be darker. Ill probably practise on ; A) Not my own work and B) Stuff thats easier to colour, ie not dark people (to start off with) Ive tried to toy with filters to see what looks the best when colouring.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 The bottom one has a slight more dramatic feel to him with the shadows being darker. I think it makes him look a little better. You could probably add more contrast.
Kirkatronics Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Found you some stuff to practice on http://www.dltk-kids.com/crafts/cartoons/poster/bposterspiderman2.gif'>http://www.dltk-kids.com/crafts/cartoons/poster/bposterspiderman2.gif http://www.dltk-kids.com/anime/inuyasha/bposterinuyasha.gif'>http://www.dltk-kids.com/anime/inuyasha/bposterinuyasha.gif http://www.dltk-kids.com/anime/inuyasha/bsangocoloring.gif'>http://www.dltk-kids.com/anime/inuyasha/bsangocoloring.gif http://www.dltk-kids.com/anime/sailor/65.gif'>http://www.dltk-kids.com/anime/sailor/65.gif ------------------- http://www.dltk-kids.com/
Shorty Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 If you want to practice colouring on lineart without actually doing the lineart, you could start here. They also have lots of coloring tutorials on that site. but make sure the artist doesn't mind (or never finds out...)
Paj! Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 *purses lips* Yeah, before you said it wasn't about the drawing, I was going to criticise that. LOLZSTILLLUVYA. The blotchy effect is a good idea, but in the end just addes to the flatness. Some different colour around the lines of where the musculatrue should be would suit much better. Examples; Extreme musculature Simpler version, 2 tone I'm of the opinion that Venom should be predominantly black/dark grey with either grey (if he's black) or purple highlights. But yeah, your skill is good, but it's applied wrongly, IMO, to a bad picture of Venom to practice on.
rokhed00 Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Lol! Ever read Spider-man comics? Before you were even concieved.
ReZourceman Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Before you were even concieved. Hmmm curious. Would've thought you'd be more familiar with that sort of pose then.

EEVILMURRAY Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 I must agree, the leg on the right looks more like a penis with the actual leg missing.
