Somebody at my school (younger than me) lost her virginity when she was twelve to an 18 year old. My own cousin went out with a 17 year old when she was 13. I don't think they did anything. Am I the only one who finds it worse that we (UK) sexualise kids openly, dressing them in crop tops and g-strings with "so many men, so little time" printed on them compared to printing young looking manga characters? Obviously child porn is disturbed because it takes advantage of young children but I'm not sure that the arguement that "loli leads to paedophilia" is solid at all. Like I have said above, I think that what happens with the children in this country encourages paedophilia just as much if not more so. RoadKill Posted March 13, 2008 Share Posted March 13, 2008 Yeah, the general sexualisation of kids in many cultures is probably way worse, and makes kids think they have to act older from the start, and lolicon has nothing to do with it - the general public doesn't know what the fuck lolicon is, but they sure as hell see all these skimpy outfits being sold, and child modelling, beauty contests, etc, which are clearly making an exhibit of the child, whereas lolicon might be sick (or hot) but it doesn't actually involve a real child. Well from a free speech standpoint, banning fiction, complete works of fiction, simply imagination, committed to paper - banning something like that is a pleasing slippery slope to letting the government control everything we should be able to do in our own home, regardless of whether it hurts anyone (I think we can all agree that drawing something cannot directly cause harm). They kind of did this with racism here in the UK, except they did make sure to not enforce it too zealously, (as far as I'm aware) so comedians making possibly racist jokes aren't suddenly carted off to jail.
