R1kk1 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Have you not played Tales of Symphonia?! I lie, I've played ToS as well!! I totally forgot about that! It was a really good game, but in personal preference, I still rate ToE higher. O.o <begins to run>
Dyson Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 You know how I said you'd fit in earlier? Yeah, things have changed. *draws throwing knife from boot*
R1kk1 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 You know how I said you'd fit in earlier? Yeah, things have changed. *draws throwing knife from boot* Damnit. I always manage to screw things up. I forgot you can't have an opinion on the internet anymore. Wait... anymore? O.o
Dyson Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 To be honest with you, I've only ever played ToS and ToV, which I'm playing right now. I've just not heard great things about the Tales series aside from ToS/V.

I've just not heard great things about the Tales series aside from ToS/V. Well if you have a PSP check out ToE. I loved it. Epic storyline. Whilst the battling is 2D, it still works just as well as the 3D console counterparts. Be careful though, as some earlier versions of the game are known to crash towards the last quarter or so.
daftada Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I had ToE, was a pretty good title, great graphics, good music and some interesting character/story development. Shame my mate left my PSP on a train, I had to wave good bye to 20+ hours of gaming, never got round to completing it
Babooo Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Just got Tales of Vesperia through the post this morning! wooo! But gonna finish off Dead Space before starting TOV. Can't wait!
Emerald Emblem Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I want to try and get the Max level achievement but I recently checked one of the secret achievements Defeat Barbos at level 15 or lower. I wonder what I should do.
Tales Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 The one you put in the spoiler is obviously faster, and you can combine it with the speedster achievement.
Dyson Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 You don't need to go in to a menu to see chest items.
Babooo Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 guys just started this game last night and i can't get to grips with the combat. do you just mash the b button? and what does the a button do? that weird wave attack thingy bob? sorry for the noob questions lol
Emerald Emblem Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Generally you can just mash the attack button. But as you go on you'll need to initiate strategy, also most boss fights require a little strategy too in order to get the secret Bonus missions. Also the A button is for Artes, as you learn more moves you can use up to 4 during battle by tilting the stick in different directions. Edited September 21, 2009 by Emerald Emblem
Babooo Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Cheers for the reply mate....I was really struggling with this at first....Couldn't even beat the soldiers at the start and then i needed numerous attempts to beat Zagi! But I'm getting there....getting used to the whole combat of the game.
CooInTheZoo Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 http://www.shopto.net/XBOX%20360/GAMES/XB2TA01-Tales%20Of%20Vesperia.html £24.99 and in stock (!!) at Shopto.net
Emerald Emblem Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I don't see myself beating Duke's bonus 3rd form. He's at a higher level than my characters and he takes less damage then before, used up all my life bottles in a few minutes and got his health down by 1/5 at best.
Dyson Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 £24.99? Nice price...hope it stays at that price until pay day (Tuesday)! >_<

You can't skip him once activated... Mess around with your skills and equip something that might be useful. It's been a while since I played it so I can't tell you what, but you shouldn't go in with random skills. At least activate the one that sometimes ressurects the characters so you won't waste so many life bottles. Use steal on the third form to get Yuri's best weapon or you can make it. I think I beat him in the mid 70s.

Just payed £32.99 for this when Gameplay had it in stock last week! Dammit.....typical eh? Always happens I guess.. Anyways, so far played three hours of this game and I am enjoying it....but I'm not being sucked in like I was with TOS. I can only play 45mins worth in one session and then start getting bored. At times, I don't even feel like playing it.....which is absolute bollocks considering uni doesn't start till 5th oct! I got soooo much time! lol

Where are you up to so far?
Babooo Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 It gets better - the start is a little slow. Where are you up to so far? Its actually picking up a bit now....in that port town, having got onto that bad guy's ship lol (sorry for the vague description!). Since my last post in this thread, I have played around 3-4 hours more, clocking in at 7hours playtime altogether.
Babooo Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 21 hours in, lv35. I could do more. glad this thread has been bumped!

It's basically playing again with perks that you purchase with your grade you earned in the previous playthrough. Such as Double exp from battles and regain all a select characters abilities or all of them for a discount price. Edited October 15, 2009 by Emerald Emblem
