The Wii is a cool console but as we all know is that it are the games that make the console and not the console that makes the game. So on what part do you think the Wii is missing out!

I think the Wii really needs:

More racing games, up to now we only have seen few racing games for the Wii that are at least half descent. And while the Wii controls fit racing games so good.

I'm really worried about Mario Kart Wii. I've played both arcade games (Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 & 2) and the steering wheel is way too sensitive, you have to turn it about 5 degrees to not completely turn around. It would be nice if they included Classic controls too...

Yep, it needs more stuff like Excite Truck. Awesome game that is. The Wii needs more of these in your face arcade racers, the kind of racers that make you feel 'FFS this is some awesome stuff' while you are racing.

I'm really hoping there'll be an Excite Truck 2 with online (and better multiplayer in general).

Racing games? You want the Wii to have more racing games? Screw that give the Wii a single proper RPG!!!

Only racing game i'll get is Mario Kart and maybe Excitetruck if I see it cheap.

So on what part do you think the Wii is missing out! That was the question. racing games was just one of the sugertions i made now its up to you to tell us what you think "on what part do you think the Wii is missing out!"

I don't think we do all know that, or at least some of us don't believe that to be the case.

I feel that a lot of people favour the 360 and PS3 for the HD graphics and the traditional controllers, and I know that a lot of people have high regards for the 360's unified system, and some prefer the Wii for its controls, as do some the PC for the same. So it really does seem like the machine [what it offers or can do, and any extraneous features and capabilities] is what makes the game for some of us, or at least constitutes a very important factor.

Anyway, I think the Wii is in desperate need of online games. There's a few already out, but it's still seriously lacking compared with the other two consoles.

RPGs. I don't understand why we're receiving so few. I think remakes of titles such as Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia would be welcome.

To be fair and honest, the Wii is in desperate need of a bit of everything... (except ofcourse those retched mini games).

Beat 'em ups, strategy, RPG, Driving, yes even sports. It feels like the Gamecube and N64 or over but with just a little bit more. Who remembers the good ole days of having one game per genre? :( (ie Capcom vs SNK, Pikmin)

Racing games, including a GT killer; in the vein of Forza... and look how Forza looked on Xbox 1... something of the same level of effort would look awesome on the Wii.

Main series RPG's, not Dragon Quest Swords (instead of numbered), Final Fantasy <insert number>, not only the ones with Christal Chronicles or Fables substitles, Kingdom Hearts, new Mario RPG from Square, Tri-Ace RPG's, main series Tales games, not only spinoff's who recycle assets and engine, new Monolith RPG's, new Camelot RPG's, Level-5 RPG's, Nippon Ichi RPG's, Skies of Arcadia 2. FF7-class impact from one RPG who re-invents or makes a fever for it in Japan.

RPG enhanced ports/remakes, FFXII, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Symphonia enhanced (PS2 extra content), Baten Kaitos 1+2, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Atlus RPG's (Odin Sphere, Persona 3), past Disgaeas.

FPS's online who actually use the hardware to Metroid Prime 3 standard willst having lots of guys on-screen; More N-Space FPA goodness after the dismiss of Metroid Prime.

Middleware engine optimized who actually support Wii features and allow to push it.

Adventure/Action games, Devil May Cry Spin-off or enhanced ports (and bundled), Sonic games in the Vein of Secret Rings; new Zelda, metal gear spin-off or enhanced ports, Panzer Dragoon Wii, Shenmue Wii, Resident Evil 2 remake, etc.

Nintendo "quirky" franchises: Pikmin 3, Chibi Robo 2, Giftpia, etc

Third party quirky franchises: Guitaroo Man, Phoenix Wright Wii, Elite Beat Agents Wii, Katamari Damacy Wii, etc

More announcements like Monster Hunter 3 on the Wii.

i realy miss the MMO RPG's like PSU i meen the ps2 has it than why not the Wii!
Yeah, that too (even PSP is getting it now). and FFXI or a next gen MMO from them; oh, and Homeland, the Chunsoft GCN MMORPG (japan only) but they should expand and re-release it.

And while we're at it... exclusive RPG's like a new Chrono series game; and if asking is not much... a Chrono Cross Remake with Wii graphics.

It's missing half the release list being announced in Europe. If we had the same schedule as America had I don't think anyone would be complaining, just we've seen about 5 or 6 good / great games delayed until...er... we still don't know.

Aside from that, it's missing the sequel to Zack and Wiki being announced, and some exclusive Sonic and Megaman games, which will be announced in 2008.

Also, to people saying RPG's, they'll come back the never come at the start of a consoles life. Aside from Microsoft paying big bucks to a few compaines to make them for them (Blue Dragon, Lost Oddyssey) most RPG makers are finishing their PS2 projects / starting DS projects and waiting to see which console becomes the next big success in Japan. Developing an RPG is one of the most expensive and timely genres, and most of these companies are too small to afford the risk if they end up making it for the least successful console. The recent annoucement of the Tales Of / Monster Hunter 3 should be a sign of where they're headed though.

Racing games that DONT use the wiimote.

The problem is as Nintendo has given the Wii remote has the primary Wii controller, you must EXPECT it to use the Wii remote...sadly. If Nintendo also packed a classic Controller along with Wiis then it may be a different story.

It's a good thing they haven't included the Classic controller as standard. If they had, I think developer's, being more accustomed to making games for traditional controllers, would support that more than the remote, diminishing the console's focus on innovative controls.

Posted

i think the developers should put several controller options in there games! GC, Wii mote, classic etc etc

I am still hoping for a lost planet for the Wii.. but the wait will be in vain i am afraid... but more online shooters

I don't know why, but I never really felt all that comfortable using an analogue stick for a racing game. I've only played one Wii racing game, and that was ExciteTruck, and I've already felt more in control than I probably have in any other racing game before, bar maybe Mario Kart64.

With regards to developers putting in several controller options: ...where have you been? Are you guys checking the Smash Bros updates or what?

But these 'intuitive' controls is what repels me from quiet a few games.

Well introducing something new always has its hurdles. I'm sure there were plenty of people that didn't like the thumbstick when it first appeared.

I still don't (for shooters), so I'm glad something (the Wii remote) has come along to give me a, in my opinion, better alternative. :)

I'd like to see more shooters and racers, but with variety. I don't everygame to be "futuristic, tactical shooter against big bad alienmen."

Likewise, with racing, I don't want every game to be a sim, or just arcade. A lil variety wouldn't go amiss.

I don't see what's the problem. Driving controls work excellently, and it immerses you into the games much more than poking a stick. I'd refuse to buy any Wii racer that uses the analog stick, as it would completely miss the point.
