Rumor - Megaton Famitsu news (new Wii colors, Mario Kart with animals, and more)

 

Bumped this to the top seeing that it’s pretty huge news if true. Also, on a side note, my email is really funky today. If you have sent me an email and I haven’t responded, it’s because I haven’t gotten it yet.

 

 

Famitsu news is indeed coming tonight, but some stuff has rolled in a tad early. The news usually comes in from NeoGAF, but the source they usually get it from is different. This may be rumor and it may not, but the NeoGAF gang felt it real enough to post.

 

New Wii colors launching packin with Smash Brothers on 1/24.

* Price: \35000

* Red, Diamond Black, Mint Blue, Snow Pink, Famicom colors (limited edition set)

* Packed with two Wiimotes, two nunchucks.

 

Super Mario Kart Wii

* 2/28, for \5800

* Up to 8-player multiplayer

* Bikes, animals also ridable

 

 

New colours = awesome

Smash Bros in Jan = fantastic, but why so late for us? :(

Mario Kart Wii = cheap... seems like a Wii Ware game to me!

8 players online.. :(

Animals? Fuck yeah, i like the idea of that. Yoshi! Rambi! ... That frog and ostrich.

Animals in Mario Kart? I'm all for bikes, but animals just seems... meh :heh:

 

Unless they're karts that are just designed to look like animals, then thats ok.... but using something that is not a vehicle and has no engine seems very un-karty... maybe they'll be changing the franchise name too?

 

The colours is great, I've been holding out getting any new Wiimotes and nunchucks since I'm waiting for new colours, Black and Blue would be awesome

Great news about the colours! but the animals in Mario Kart is a bit of an odd move from Nintendo! normally animals in a game are a bit clunky to control and how is it going to feel using the Wiimote? :)

Nah, it won't be WiiWare. I'm sure that price is wrong. Mariokart is a franchise that sells relatively well on nintendo's home consoles so I don't think they'd go and make it really really cheap.

There's no date at all for Europe. No one knows what Q it'll be in either. We just need to wait and see.
