Aimless Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Also, will the console want to update itself as soon as it turns on? As I said, no internet for a while but I take it the slim's will have a relatively recent firmware already installed. Sorry for all the questions! You can actually download the latest firmware from the PlayStation website and whack it on a USB drive, so at least you can always have access to the latest features.
CooInTheZoo Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Okay, just blown my loan on that 26" Tv I mentioned earlier, and a 250gb console with Uncharted 2. Can't wait!
The Lillster Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Okay, just blown my loan on that 26" Tv I mentioned earlier, and a 250gb console with Uncharted 2. Can't wait! You did the right thing. Welcome to the Party!
Shorty Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Okay, just blown my loan on that 26" Tv I mentioned earlier, and a 250gb console with Uncharted 2. Can't wait! You want to play Uncharted 1 first. I'm glad I did. Rent it maybe?
dwarf Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I disagree. I wouldn't worry about playing number 1 right now. Otherwise you'll be playing both in quick succession which will just get boring, and there's not really a great carry over between the two character-wise so basically just ignore Shorty.
Daft Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Play the first, leave it a bit, then play the second.

I agree with this post.
Daft Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Just listen to me. Plus, who doesn't want to play two great games instead of one?
dwarf Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 But Among Thieves is like the first game, only a bit better. Just play the second one, that way you save money, probably come to like the series more because you haven't saturated it, and then you may feel like picking up the original at a later date. Simples
Daft Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 But why ignore a great game? It's not like the first Uncharted is expensive. I'm sure you can find it for around a tenner. There's no need to rush into playing the second straight after either. If you want until the price comes down on that you'll save money as well.
dwarf Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 He just blew a loan. Personally I think he'd be better off saving £10.
Daft Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 And spend £30 odd on a game that's 'only a bit better'?
dwarf Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 He got it in a bundle.... And obviously I was just trying to show their similarity in my last post. The second is much better in 'amazingness' terms, but almost identical gameplay wise so I wouldn't consider Drake's Fortune an essential purchase anymore.
Daft Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Fair enough. I still think the first game is easy worth it, especially considering how cheap you can find it.
CooInTheZoo Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Yeah, the sequel comes free with the console from HMV (who, incidentally just emailed me saying "we've cancelled your order, your bank says it looks like suspicious activity" I guess paying rent and buying tech goodies on the same day was a bit too much for my student account to handle) but I have every intention of buying the first one at some point down the road. I'll think of it as a prequel - that'll be okay won't it?
Emasher Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 The Open MAG beta is now up, on the US store at least, I have no idea about Europe. The nearly 2 GB of updates take forever to download.
Caris Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I have a weird thing happening on my PS3. When I compare Trophies it says I have unlocked 61% on MW2 which is right, but when I compare with a few select people it says I have 17%. Anyone know why this is?

It is prob just the servers being shit. Sometimes they don't all sync up together straight away, it will sort it's self out eventually.
Daft Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Yeah, I kept flipping between 7 and 8 Platinums. Stoopid servers.
Caris Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Who has Bomberman and wants to unlock some Trophies? Me and Chuck need 2 other people to get the 4 player ones.
flameboy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Who has Bomberman and wants to unlock some Trophies? Me and Chuck need 2 other people to get the 4 player ones. what are the four player ones? surprised havn't got them because played plenty of 4 player matches online
Caris Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Tonight, erm there like win 5 matches in a row and win a all girls match or something. Not hard at all just need 4 people.
dwarf Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I am now at level 10 for trophies. Get in. Have 2 annoying trophies to get in Fallout 3 for the platinum though - levelling up to 8 in good and neutral karma. I managed to find save files to allow me to do the level 14 & level 20 karma trophies, but I have no saves below level 8. Looks like I'm going to have to start a new game for them :/
