Irredeemable 1-3

Oh, wow, the first issue is pretty good, its so harsh, a superhero with superman like powers turns bad and his former friends are trying to find out why, while he is seeking to kill them to stop them from discovering a way to defeat him.

Issue two was slower paced, revealed who the plutonian was in terms of secret identity, and hinted that someone might know how to stop him, while also shedding more light on why he could hate humanity.

Issue three brought the plutonians enemies together, and proved how sadistic the man has become.

Dan, theres a cool method of killing at the end of issue 3 that i think you would much like to see :P

At least the trades have a pretty good schedule and are out on time. But yeah....megaphail. I could never go over to trades for any of Kirkmans stuff. My willpower is made of mush.

There's obviously no post production involved in the pic so expect it to look considerably better in motion.

Quite a cool design- though how that's supposed to rival the Iron Man suit I'll never know.

speaking of which: when the fuck is the next Invincible Iron Man out?

Nice to see Irredeemable Ant Man TPB, I recommend that.

It looks like he has motorbike handlebars in his hands, but I'm guessing they're... whips? Or something? And it looks like he has an arc reactor....

Oh wait, is this Whiplash as in the Iron Man whiplash? Wowza!

I'm waiting with baited breath to see Scarlett as a redhead (she better be redhead) in leather.

WTF.............................

I'd heard rumours that Ben Reilly was the new Ultimate Spider-Man. Maybe the person who told me was confused with this.

Anyway my first point stands....

Ben Reilly in Ultimate was a black scientist who played a part in creating Carnage anyway so it wouldnt make much sense.

Still id like to have him back in Amazing, but of course I wouldnt be able to own the comics which is a shame.

Yeah he did, but of course this is comics. Im sure theres many ways he could be written back in.

Still im not entirely convinced it will happen the way we are assuming. Seems like a massive thing to just mention in an interview and not keep as a suprise.

I agree to be honest. I'm not actually a Reilly/Clone Wars hater....but...

...Didn't he dissolve?

I liked Clone Saga, it's when I first started reading Spidey. :)

He dissolved. But realistically, it's not hard to whip up a story where Jackal has stored various samples around the place or whatever.

What happened to the Jackal? Is he dead? He felt funny.

Posted
I think he did die.....No idea though.

Word guys. Maybe Ben Powder made a deal with Mephisto? Too soon?

Dont give Marvel ideas! We'll soon find that all heroes related to Spiders have been making deals with Mephisto throughout time

Walking Dead #62 sets up the new arc very nicely :)

roll on July!

The cannibalistic crime thriller, CHEW, sells out with a second printing on the way!

CHEW, the all-new crime series with a cannibalistic twist from writer John Layman and illustrator Rob Guillory, debuted to a near immediate distribution-level sell out despite a significant overprint, resulting in a second printing.

"I've been insisting for years that the comic book industry has been clamoring for more books with double page spreads of non-costumed characters eating soup, and it's gratifying to see there indeed is a robust market for such a book," Layman said. "Big thanks to everybody --retailers, readers and reviewers-- who came out in such shocking numbers to check out something new and different, and more than a little bit weird. Rob Guillory's amazing art certainly played a big part in attracting people's attention, so I want to thank him for his great work as well."

CHEW's star, Detective Tony Chu, is a cop with a secret. As a Cibopath, Detective Chu gets a psychic impression from whatever he eats. While it means he's a hell of a Detective if he can stomach the evidence, once his secret gets out the government makes plans for him, whether he likes it or not. CHEW blends horror, mystery and the strangest ability of them all in an ongoing series of horrific crimes solved in the most horrific way possible. Since its release the book has been receiving an immense amount of buzz with many retailers directly contacting Image for as many copies as they can spare. Even Layman's fellow creators have been talking up the book.

CASANOVA and Uncanny X-Men Writer Matt Fraction commented, "Of all the times John Layman has made me want to throw up, this was the best. CHEW is disturbed and disturbing and warped and grotesque and hilarious and horrifying-- in short, exactly the kind of book we were all afraid John Layman had hiding inside of him somewhere. Now when they find the bodies, we can all hold up copies of CHEW and say SEE? WE TOLD YOU THIS WAS COMING. Oh, and Rob Gullory is going to helllllllllll."

CHEW #1 2nd Printing (APR098373) and CHEW #2 (MAY090346), both thirty-two page full color comic books for $2.99, will be in stores July 1st, 2009.

oh btw ReZ my local FP has plenty copies of Chew #1 in! ;)
