Happenstance Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 They'll find some excuse to bring her back to life. Just for me. [How did she die? This time]
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Its pretty obviously Professor X with some funky new powers!
Paj! Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (Just if that isn't clear...) Magento set up Wolverine and Jean so that they ended up stranded on the abandoned Asteroid M, which was on a collision course to the sun (IIRC). They realised there was absolutely nothing they could do, and in the final moments as the heat was making them lose conciousness, Wolvey killed Jean, and walked out the ship into the sun. As he expected, she suddenly is brought back to life by the Phoenix Force, who saves them both and then takes the fight to Magneto. Which ends badly, as you can see.
chairdriver Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Magneto is just too great. He's one of those villains that isn't actually evil, and has realistic intentions, but prefers shite heroes didn't get in his way.
Paj! Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Although, he felt a bit out of character in that story, and was later retconned into being Xorn's brother or something stupid. Which I like, cause I'd prefer Magneto was kept great, but hate just cause I hate bad retconning.

The comics I got up to [years back] had Magneto being Xorn [in disguise naturally], was this not the case?
ReZourceman Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Viltrumite War interview http://comicbookresources.com/ Sounds so good I want to hijack a cloud and scream bloody mary.
Paj! Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 It was, but then they decided they hated and it turned out it was someone impersonating Xorn impersonating Magneto. They did meet the real Xorn after that, didnt read the comics at that time, but obviously he never joined the team.
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 The real Xorn did join the team for a bit after they rescued him from China, he had a black hole inside his head or something
chairdriver Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I've read that arc, but hated, because the art was shite.
EEVILMURRAY Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 The real Xorn did join the team for a bit after they rescued him from China, he had a black hole inside his head or something Yeah, that's what they "said" but it turned out it was Magneto. Like I said, read ages ago.
Dan_Dare Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Marvel boy? Marvel Man? If that's not Noh-Varr as the new Captain Marvel, I'll eat my hat.
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Yeah, that's what they "said" but it turned out it was Magneto. Like I said, read ages ago. No, this is after all that happened. Ive got the trade where the reveal happens/Jean dies then ive also got the arc in single issues later with the real Xorn appearing Confirmed character return in Brightest Day:
Paj! Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 No, this is after all that happened. Ive got the trade where the reveal happens/Jean dies then ive also got the arc in single issues later with the real Xorn appearing This. After the whole Xorn is Magneto thing, it's revealed he isn't either, and another story with the real Xorn occurs.
arnold Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I always thought Hope was Jean Re-incarnated or whatever, same Powers, hell same bloody look, but i'm guessing that's what they want us to believe and it really isn't *shrug*
EEVILMURRAY Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Looks like Iron Man [even though it won't be]
ReZourceman Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Must be War Machine. Must. And this is going to be one good looking and amazing comic.
Dan_Dare Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 That's War Machine. Won't he need a new suit now he's not a cyborg or whatever?
gmac Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Finally, Invincible #70 and Wolf-Man #21 are both out next week
Happenstance Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Must be War Machine. Must. And this is going to be one good looking and amazing comic. Is that a brand new project? The character just looks really familiar.
Dan_Dare Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 There was promo art a while back. He also looks a bit like the brilliant Fantomex
