Jon Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 People you may be noticing that the once great word of LOL has lost all its former glory. Once the holy grail of laughing desciption, it is now being whored out at the end of every sentence. With your help we can put a stop to this and restore LOL to its former glory. To back the campaign you must do the following: Place "PROUD MEMBER OF THE ANTI-LOL CAMPAIGN" in your sig and follow these commandments: 1. Thou shalt not place 'lol' in a sentence not containing a 'joke'. 2. Thou shalt not place 'lol' in a sentence containing a 'joke', as this ruins all ' comedy value' of the 'joke'. 3. Thou shalt not use the word 'lol' when confused. It only heightens your impression of stupidity and adds no conversational value. We honest, hardworking forum readers and posters are sick and tired of being confronted with lazy posters 'conveniently' forgetting to add a 'y' and a 'o' to 'you' With your help people we can restore the glory to LOL! Please do not take this seriously
#1cubeplayer Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I'd rather not be hung over something so miniscule. LOL never really had glory, other than being the most popular word of txt talk.
E3wannabe Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Err hate to be the bearer of bad news but commandments 1 & 2 contradict eac other.
Blackfox Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 He's only having a laugh. Chill everybody. And tbh, he has his points, it does get pretty un-funny when someone uses it in a normal sentance: "yeah, my day was pretty crappy lol" "lol, how are you?" "your mum's fat lolololololol"
#1cubeplayer Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I see you edited your post to add a fourth commandment which has nothing to do with your LOL campaign. You're pretty funny, JonSt, lol.
Jon Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 Err hate to be the bearer of bad news but commandments 1 & 2 contradict eac other. errn, no they dont its says not to post lol in a sentance without a joke and not to post lol in a sentance with a joke. please refrain from going off topic woman.

Twozzok Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 LOLLERSKATES ^_^ joke joke, not really bothered about lol. lol. EDIT: please refrain from going off topic woman. but he wasn't...
Dieter Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I support this campaign (being a co-founder and all...) and am glancing in the direction of certain forum members shiftily at this moment! Don't take this too seriously, okay? But this isn't completely meaningless either :P
Athriller Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I don't particularly like it, but I'm not prepared to go to war for it.
Jon Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 dudes its just a bit of fun, yeah the 4th comandment was a misunderstanding, all sorted now. You bitches need to lighten up.
Twozzok Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 None of these people are flaming/being harsh their just saying what they think.
#1cubeplayer Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I may need to lighten up, but you may want to re-read your first post and lighten up yourself. Unless you edited the post for the 5th time.
Space Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 lol I love to lol!!1 I just hope nobody says it in real life like Jeremy from purepwnage.

Monopolyman Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 rofl and I don't see why people get so hung up on people saying 'u' instead of 'you'. I mean, we all know what they're saying when they say 'u', so whats the big deal?
#1cubeplayer Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Yo, Space, what's up? I love to lol too. I must say, JonSt, that your campaign has triggered a longing to lol.
Wesley Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 lol has stolen people's laughter. I prefer haha much more.
