Pit-Jr Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 This is stupid. Its as though movies are going the way of video games with format holders scrambling to get exclusives on their respective players. Its a big step backward for the home movie industry Conversely, it would be a big step forward for the video game industry if there was a unified console format. I hate the prospect of having to buy 3 consoles every 5 years just to play every good game. Ive missed out on so much great content because of this Gates, Iwata, and Kutaragi (or is it Harai now) need to get together and hash out a standard home console with a standard online service. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party software makers can enjoy the largest install base possible and i can enjoy an unexclusive library and a clutter-free livingroom
motion Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 My post, or the 'bad' news??? The fact that this format war is taking far too long... I don't care which one wins, as long as one wins SOON!
Slaggis Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Transformers only on HD-DVD? I'm sold. That's the movie that just needs to be seen on a high def disk.
That Guy Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I'm really happy to see HD DVD have some good news. Not because I hate Sony and Blu Ray it's just I own a HD DVD player with about 6-7 films and so I obviously hope that the thing I own wins.
Marshmellow Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Are Blu-Ray movies played on the PS3 always kind of fuzzy? I've watched 300, AVP, and The Italian Job, and all of 'em have been kind of fuzzy. While on the X360 HD DVD drive I've only watched the Rundown and it wasn't fuzzy at all.
Marshmellow Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Any idea why? Its connected through HDMI in full 1080p...
Jackster Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 A few days ago I would have said Blu Ray would win so go for it, but now Paramount are exclusively supporting HD-DVD so I guess you'll have to wait it out a little longer to see who wins...
Noodleman Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 If HD-DVD wont be getting Michael Bay films after his rant yesterday I for one hope it wins.
