Ant-Shimmin Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I went to Leigh RMI's ground a few years back to watch a friend play for Stevenage and the toilets are the exact same state as the ones in Goodison Park, An Alleyway with no drainage system and a yellow piss stained wall. Only difference is Goodison provides a roof over your head, but even then...Ew... Elland Road was just a major total shit house no offence to Conzer but the away end was crumbling seriously crumbling bit's of lying brick everywhere... Milenium Stadium, well what can I say the area surrounding it and the people make the stadium what it is, it seems to have soul which is important in a modern stadia.. and for the record I have been to Anfield more times than a 100 as I'm sure you may guess! I think it is a very good stadium the facilities are spot on but in terms of capacity and structure it's nothing special. But it turns into something extra ordinary when it's full of red on a European Night...
Platty Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Worst: Fratton Park (I love the atmosphere, but it really is shit), Goldstone Ground (Brighton & Hove's old ground, enuff said). You've never been to Welling United.
Ant-Shimmin Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Seems we've all been to a few Football Grounds in our time so how many football grounds have you been to and roughly how many times.. Right (Estimates) Villa Park x 4 Reebok Stadium x 4 Anfield x 100 (Probably) Highbury x 2 Upton Park x 1 St James Park x 3 Milenium Stadium x 5 Old Trafford x 2 Goodison Park x 3 The Valley x 3 Fratton Park x 2 St Mary's x 1 Stadium of Light x 2 Racecourse x 4 Leigh RMI x 2 JJB x 1 Prenton Park x 1 Maine Road x 1 Stamford Bridge x 1 Celtic's Ground x 1 Loftus Road x 1 Fulhams Ground(Name Beats me atm) x 2 Deva Stadium x 1 I've probably been to quite a few more like
Fresh Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Old Trafford x 1. Wembley (new) x 1. Estadio Santiago Bernabéu x 1. Huge tally I know.
conzer16 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Lansdowne Road (x7) - estimate Elland Road (x3) That's about it as far as soccer grounds I suppose.
Platty Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Old Trafford (United & England combined) x 22 The Valley x 15 Old Wembley x 4 New Wembley x 1 (but will be going 4/5 more times before the end of the year) Upton Park x 3 Carrow Road x 1 Ewood Park x 1 The Den x 2 The New Den x 1 Highbury x 1 White Hart Lane x 1 Reebok Stadium x 1 Falmer stadium x 1 Priestfield x 1 That's all I can remember at the moment apart from loads of smaller local clubs like Welling, Thamesmead town etc
Noodleman Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Er, Layer Road - no idea I had a season ticket for 3 years and have been to the odd match since and before. 70 odd? Portman Road - about 8 times when the scum where in the Premiership Carrow Road - 10 times Portman Road by far the nicest stadium though
UziT Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Old Trafford x 11 Old Wembley x 1 Upton Park x 2 Ewood Park x Highbury x 2 White Hart Lane x 2 Reebok Stadium x 1 Villa Park x 2 not bad, best experiance old wembley, every time I went Old Trafford and Villa Park was pumping aswell lol
flameboy Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Fratton Park; Not a clue, used to go as a youngster, but then moving away from home cut that down.... JJB x 1 (great escape for pompey last season, pitch invasion ahoy!) Anfield x 1 Wetherby Road x 60 atelast (Harrogate Town in Conference North)- used to play for their youth team so had a season ticket for 2 years... Elland Road x 1 Carrow Road x 1

Happenstance Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Anfield x20+ (Hard to say as I was younger and we had season tickets for a few years) Old Trafford x1 Villa Park x1

flameboy Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Well pompey news ahoy today! According to the Preston Official Site, Nugent has not returned to training and is having futher talks with Pompey, have heard through the grapevine he has been seen driving into Fratton Park as well. Plus our new kit made by leading rugby manufacturers Canterbury has been unveiled; I like it, not too dissimilar to our kit from great escape season, but for the first time in ages we are getting a kit manufactured by a decent company so the quality won't be awful like it has the last few seasons with Jako..
BlueStar Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Apparently we've been offered Deco and enquired about Eto'o while over discussing getting Gudjohnsen from Barca. The Journal understands that Newcastle have been offered Portugal international midfielder Deco by officials at the Nou Camp and have also made tentative enquiries regarding the possibility of signing Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o while discussing Gudjohnsen’s future with the Catalan giants. Deco's a vague possibility but I think Mike and Fred have been sampling the local wine a bit much asking after Eto'o
BlueStar Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 nufc.com now reckon Deco's on his way for a medical. They're usually reliable, but I wont count my chickens. It's been mentioned in the past that Barca would get rid of Deco to make room for Lampard, so it could indicate they feel they're going to get Frank the Lamp.
Roostophe Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Gotta say that Pompey kit is pretty nice. Seeing as we are all talking about which football grounds we've been to, I'll share... I've only been to two: Villa Park (4 times) Coles Lane, Sutton Coldfield Town F.C.'s ground. (1 time) I'm a bit delighted that a fair number of you have been to Villa Park. Nice stadium innit?
flameboy Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 glad to see people complementing the kit, not something that has happened for ages with a pompey kit... my new catalogue just arrived in the post, it looks so nice!

Yea, its around the corner to me. I'm in Erdington
conzer16 Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Interesting to see Canterbury betting in on the soccer scene. 5pm today is the deadline for Leeds lads. If anyone wants to help me make a bid paypla me a few euros I mean, I could probably win with a bid of, oooh, €50 Seriously though, 'tis an awful dodgy time at the moment. Serious doubt about us being able to start the next season at al.. >.<
Roostophe Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Yea, its around the corner to me. I'm in Erdington Ooh, unlucky...Turdington...
Noodleman Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Arsenal fans, what is Matthew Connolly like. We've just taken him on a years loan it would appear. All I know is that hes a Center Back. We've also signed Danny Granville from Palace on a free transfer. A left back at last \o/ Just need a back up striker now and we are set.
gmac Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Stadiums I've visited (estimated) Celtic Park - 200+ Hampden - at least 10 times Ibrox - 4 Easter Road - 1 Firhill - 2 East End Park - 2 Station Park - 5 Carlisle's ground - 1 not really one for away games, hopefully going to at least one european away game this coming season though (oh and I did go to Seville in '03 but I didn't have a ticket )
