The title should actually read 'nVidia or ATI'.... According to a recent Steampowered survey of gamers, 52% have nVidia cards and 48% have ATI cards so it's fairly even. It seems that some cards are biased towards certain games, for example ATI cards perform much better with Half Life 2 than nVidia cards do, but vice-versa with Doom3. I've always had ATI cards and my x700 Pro chews through the most demanding games such as Farcry so I'm happy. I definitely could not justify spending several hundred £££'s on a top-end card when there's no need yet.

Destroy it (remembering to video and post the results), then buy yourself a Netgear DG834G. ;-)

Am I the only person who likes MSN 8.0.0566? The previous version was fugly but the latest build is loads better, although of course IRC is still by far my favourite method of communication.

Ubuntu is a great Linux distro for beginners, it does a lot more than just allowing internet usage though, have a play around with it!

You could always use a Linux Live CD, mount a usb flash drive, copy your work across onto it, then format the HDD and reinstall windblows. But that requires too much effort. ;-)

There's no point getting a PCI-E graphics card if your motherboard only has an AGP slot. Your motherboard's manual will be able to tell you this. Virtual Memory is used when your PC needs to swap stuff from the RAM onto your HDD when you run out of space in the RAM. This is not good because it will cripple your PC's performance, even though it allows you to run more programs at once. If you find yourself running low on RAM often, and the PC is lagging due to swapping frequently, then it's time to buy more RAM. These days you need at least 1GB of RAM in order for things to run smoothly, and wth 2GB some people even decide to totally disable VM.

I have Opera Mini on my mobile phone, and I can do everything. Obviously the forums are a bit squished but it works very well. Opera can also run from a USB memory stick, so there's no reason for it not to be fully functional on a DS cart.

The EU are fucktards. Who are they to say what an operating system can and cannot include? Next they'll be saying MS can't include paint or something equally rediculous. This does not mean I support MS's evilness, I just with they'd bring out one single operating system package which can do everything, so the user can decide what they want to use it for.

A lot of people's spelling has really gone downhill in the last couple of years, and most people just misspell things because they think it makes them sound cool. Which it doesn't. Unfortunately there's not much we can do to prevent this retarded communication, apart from physically ignoring them, thus not stooping down to their level. In IRC the only smileys I use are: :-) and ;-) I pity those who see the 'mobile emoticons' tv adverts and spend all their credit filling their phone with crappy pointless faces.

I wish people would type in IM conversations with a similar standard of english as we use on forums. Text message speak just isn't acceptable to me, and every time a stereotypical 'chav texter' adds me to msn, they don't last long on my contact list.

I still think smoking should've been outlawed the instant it was proved to do damage people's health... it's just a shame the government cared more about their money than our health. Do a google for "Half Life 2 requirements" and the first page you come to will be exactly the same as CompSci originally posted, except with the CPU's the other way round. This is obviously just a mistake. It makes good sense that the specs are the same for HL2 and HL2:E1

Norton = big mistake, it causes all sorts of problems and I can't be bothered troubleshooting this software any longer. Do a google search for Avast or AVG avtivirus, they are both much better and free alternatives. Uninstall Norton, and then you might need to reinstall MSN too possibly.
