  1. WOW (Iwata) Now that's how you streamline game development! Edit: Just watched the video on their site, Amazing! (Balloon Pop looks quite fun BTW, they should release it on the Virtual Console!)
  2. SHIT! NOOO!!!! Interesting that Mikami is continuing to work with Capcom under contract (He just can't seem to bear to give them up) thank goodness he's still there. This will be a huge blow to Capcom, two major game designers have just left. As far as major talent goes, they still have Mikami and Kenji Inafune there and they don't seem to be going anywhere so that's good. I guess Clover just cost too much to keep running (as their game sales probably didn't cover the costs of running the studio) but a lot of the staff went to Clover because they wanted to get away from the centralisation within Capcom. Now that that lifeline has been cut, they have no choice but to leave. The question is, where will Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba go now? Will they start up their own company or will they go with someone else (Imagine if they joined Nintendo!)
  3. (Edit, never mind I read it wrong) $10 is pretty good per game. Incidently, how much is the markup for other console games? Nice stands! Dog tags look cool.
  4. It could just be Winning Eleven on the Wii. After all, WE came out on the GCN but they didn't bother making a Pro Evolution for it now did they? That being said, I think some of these ideas for the Wiimote could be pretty cool (Although I don't know if strapping the Wiimote to your foot is the most practical of solutions!)
  5. Nice! what's the model number on that PJ?
  6. I'm importing this time, I regretted going PAL this generation and I've learnt my lesson. With the news that Ninty have region locked the VC meaning that you can't download the likes of Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Super Mario RPG I now feel even more vindicated in my decision to import this time. So who's importing the Wii and where from? (I'm probably gonna go with VGPlus, they've never let me down!)
  7. Even with prog scan, you'll still have to suffer with a low quality picture since the GCN and Wii's picture will be scaled upwards to your LCD's native resolution (Normally 1366 x 768) The only way to get a perfect picture is by getting a TV that is natively 480p. That's 640x480 (4:3 standard) or 852x480 (16:9 Widescreen) but that means foregoing HDTV. Some Plasmas are said to be quite good at scaling (42px60 I've heard good things about) and they tend to be much better than LCD for scaling but obviously they're still not quite perfect and of course, they're much more expensive than LCD. Sucks!
  8. Great thread, though maybe you should add something on HDTV scaling and scaling lag perhaps (I see a lot of people saying that they're gonna buy an LCD HDTV for the Wii and if they do so, they're gonna be very disappointed!)
  9. This game is going to be horrid. Looking at modern Rare's (Post CBFD) track record, they haven't made a single decent game since all their talented staff left the company. I'd rather that they just leave their old franchises alone instead of shoving out poor quality sequals that just damage the franchise, they're nothing but a shadow of their former selves. And WHAT THE SHITTING FUCK HAVE THEY DONE TO BANJO AND KAZOOIE!!! it looks like a poor quality cosplay!!!!! Why does this have to happen to this legendary franchise, BK and BT were perhaps the two best platform games ever made!
  10. The 360 now supports 1080p! (Just like PS3) http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/733/733658p1.html So if you were worried about getting a 1080p TV, worry no more! (Although it now means that if you want the best from the 360, you'll need to shell out more :p)
  11. What do the 1up guys say about the games? (Can't be bothered downloading it :p) Personally I think the Wii has a great launch lineup (My personal picks) Twilight Princess Trauma Center SO (Have to use the game's spelling ) Excite Truck Wii Play (Not for me since I'm picking up a US Wii, though I'm definately getting this one once it comes out) Red Steel (If the game sorts out it's controls) Super Monkey Ball BB Rayman RR Elebits (If it gets decent reviews, I like the look of this one but I'm not 100% sure) That's a great launch in my book! (Even without MP3, SPM and SMG)

    iTV

Woah, nice interface! (Much better than MCE IMO) This'll probably be much bigger than it too (Much cheaper than any extender I've seen) I've heard it supports all HD resolutions too including 1080p! (MCE only goes up to 1080i)
  13. http://www.nintendobuddy.com/megaton_times.html Holy crap! just realised, the JPN event is 1AM in the morning for me :yay: Not long now people, just hold out a little longer!
  14. Whoops! (just noticed the "e") Please don't hurt me!
  15. Don't know if this has been posted yet or not but I'm doing it anyway (Lock if old) http://www.planetgamecube.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=12022 Pretty much confirms a Price and Release date announcement since they seem to be either showing the conference live or giving live updates on it! Anyone else going to see him? (Other than me of course!)
  16. It's an unofficial magazine, it's total BS. The Rumble is vital for the Wiimote experience, it's the only form of feedback avaliable and Miyamoto has constantly talked of it's importance. It's far more important than the speaker and Nintendo will not take out one of the most important feactures of the Wiimote for the sake of an ancillery function. Don't believe any of this bollocks, wait until september the 14th for actual news. Nintendo have already highlighted it's importance and we've even had documentation on how the Rumble works in the Wiimote (Hint, it's like Wario Ware Twisted)
  17. Ninty have had plenty of time to prepare. Don't forget, Ninty have to launch in in Japan and the US too so the games have to be ready regardless of the euro situation. Ninty have been manufacturing consoles since June, they're more than ready for a worldwide launch!
  18. HOLY SHITE! Game just lost 7% of their stock following this announcement! http://www.irishexaminer.com/breaking/story.asp?j=4133820&p=4y33835&n=4133912 Game will be pissed, this is very bad for Sony's situation in their stores.
  19. LMAO that was fast! Wonders how many of the 100,000 for Japan and 400,000 for the US are Tard packs
  20. The truly ridiculous thing is that Sony already started their preorder campaign months ago and just launched the first PS3 launch promo site yesterday!(With the old date of course :awesome:) Today's Famitsu says Capcom have a surprising announcement regarding DMC4 at TGS, I'll leave the thinking up to you
  21. Nintendo can't put their prices up in Europe too high, they are competing with the £200 Xbox 360 after all!
  22. Couldn't have put it better myself, GO NINTENDO GO!!!
  23. They better not be the final demo pods, the PS3 one is horrible (Extreme neck cramps ahoy!) and the Wii pod is not Widescreen (Ridiculous when most games are Widescreen and all the other consoles have widescreen demo pods!) Also I hope that the Wii's tether is nice and long, the one in that picture is way too short.
  24. It's fake. 2nd screen is identical to the xbox one.
  25. Bull! Matt Cassamsmsmuhhh (Can't be bothered to spell his name) has already played with a final manufactured Wii and Wiimote and said it's flawless. That Wii and Wiimote would have to come off the production line and the consoles started manufacturing in late July so any problems would have been ironed out before mass production. Besides, Nintendo have their own factories set up in china, they don't share factories with Sony! (Nintendo actually have good quality assurance!)
