  1. What a great little vid! Sweet and nostalgic! Makes me want the game something fierce! (but alas, I can't get it till next month )
  2. I know it's not a big jump in the grand scheme of things, but it makes for a decent laugh at least :p
  3. Agreed. That being said, the Wii/DS era did have a fair few crossovers (Mario & Sonic, Boom Street, Mario Sports Mix, Pokemon Conquest etc), but this does feel like the GCN era all over again for crossovers. That being said, so far I'd say that Nintendo have done a much better job this time around than the sort of haphazard approach they took in the GCN era (where they seemed to miss at least as often as they hit), with pretty much everything turning out well this time around so far... So maybe I should give it the benefit of the doubt, even if it does feel like another Mario-in-SSX fiasco... There was also Little Mac in one of the Fight Night games IIRC. That one was really cringe worthy... so very wrong...
  4. To be fair, it was supposedly a 5% boost (I know where the graph comes from on GAF ), so it is actually significant (and hilarious, because we all know what those investors were thinking ) Still. I know that Nintendo is desperate for money, but this one seems to rub me the wrong way for some reason... I bet that no one from Nintendo is involved like they were with Hyrule Warriors (which turned out surprisingly well!)
  5. Production values look decent enough, but my God! Nintendo will allow just about any crossover these days... Should be a decent seller in Japan, but I have no interest in P&D's gameplay so... meh.
  6. Nah, she wants the normal one. It's my brother who wants the Xl... Speaking of which, there's a rumour going around that the New3DS might actually launch on Jan 12! Supposedly some retailers are listing the New3DS in their systems as down for Jan 12, so here's hoping
  7. One for my sister. She still needs one. This just happens to be perfect timing since she was gonna get it in a few days time or so anyway! Plus we're planning on sharing the faceplates we get together anyway
  8. SUPAR LAINBOW!!!! sorry, I know it's terrible but I can't help but giggle
  9. Nah, I got the email and I'm the same as you. 3DS & 3DSxl but no 2DS yet.
  10. I doubt that there's any real specific criteria, just that they draw a shortlist of the most active 10% or so of customers and then choose a set of a couple of thousand or so randomly out of that shortlist. It's a way of making people feel special through a bit of Customer Relationship Management and generating a bit of excitement (pretty much the same way that the Toad/Mario/Peach 3DS giveaway worked). Still chuffed that my sister was lucky enough to get the Toad one! And now we've been chosen again! Clearly luck is being left to heaven here! Also that Smash Bros faceplate is a really nice bonus for me because I was gonna get the Japanese one, but I noticed that it had the Japanese logo on it and I didn't want that - also trying to get the Australian faceplates was like completely impossible at the time, so I went with a Luigi one instead before I got the console itself!
  11. Just an assumption I'm making. Why else end it on such an arbitrary date?
  12. Because the Japanese and Australian equivalents were? Either way, the US/EU ones will have to be more informative because at a bare minimum, we'll be getting MH4U released on the same day for certain.
  13. So... Nintendo Direct on Jan 13 it is the it seems... I'll probably bite on this edition for my sister. We're planning on sharing the coverplates anyway!
  14. http://www.gonintendo.com/s/244604-3d-afterburner-2-coming-to-the-eu-nintendo-3ds-eshop-on-january-15 It begins! 3D Afterburner 2 hits the EU eShop on Jan 15!
  15. Plus they still haven't improved their 3D engine one damn bit! It was unacceptable in X&Y and it's still unacceptable here! Even if they have to make it a New3DS only game, they really need to sort it out in gen 7 (assuming that they pull another Black/White). That being said, the best Pokemon games are always the ones that follow up from the ones that start the hardware generation. They always get better as time goes on with each piece of hardware... GSC >> RBY FRLG >> RSE HGSS >> DPP BW/BW2 >> HGSS ORAS >> XY I have high expectations of gen 7. I don't think it's going to match BW/BW2 (AKA, the best in the series), but it should rightfully be much better than X&Y or even ORAS.
  16. Well that's a nice touch (no motion controls though? A shame. Could've been some potential there, but I suppose they have already done that three times now with Epic Yarn, Kirby's Return to Dreamland/Kirby's Adventure Wii and Triple Deluxe, so eh :p ) Also, no GCN controller support? Don't see why not? Why not give it another use for those who have them lying around?
  17. @Hero\-of\-Time Graeme Norgate was the composer for DKL and yes he did indeed compose the original tunes. He also composed some music for Killer Instinct, Blast Corps, Perfect Dark and Jet Force Gemini (he didn't work on the other DKL games though - they have no original music, but some excellent conversions of DKC2 & 3 music by Grant Kirkhope and Eveline Fischer!) I'd recommend playing through Oracle of Seasons next (play through Seasons before Ages whatever you do. I always prefer that order myself )
  18. Digdug and Lode Runner this week.
  19. Pretty much exactly how I feel about it (I assume that you meant to say "it's a shame that it wasn't handed to a team like Retro for 3 months") It's such a shame that it suffers from those issues because they really are quite easily fixable in the grand scheme of development. I think that the team did a great job but really needed a second set of eyes to look at the finished product objectively and just spend a few months ironing out the game's myriad of small problems. It's definately one of the most tragically misunderstood games I've ever seen! There's gold to be found on that disc but the game really does its damnedest to hide it!
  20. There is not. There are plenty of optional upgrades scattered throughout the game though!
  21. Zelda Wii U will get delayed till 2016, Xenoblade X will comfortably make it for 2015 though. Yoshi's Wooly World will be a March/April release worldwide. Jam With The Band Pro will be localised as a digital only release (just like Nintendo Pocket Football Club). SNES Mouse games (starting with Mario Paint) will come to the Wii U VC at some point during 2015 (probably to coincide with the release of Mario Maker). Project Zero 5 and Rodea: The Sky Soldier (on both Wii U and 3DS) will get physical & digital releases worldwide during 2015. Pokemon Z will release as a New3DS enhanced game (non-crappy framerate edition hopefully!) Fire Emblem Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn will be ported as New3DS only games in 2015. Nintendo's Amiibo Card game will see release in 2015 for 3DS. One 1st/2nd party new IP released as a New3DS exclusive in 2015. Either that, or a New3DS exclusive Metroid. Japan will see the release of Yokai Watch 3, with full Amiibo support (illegal amounts of money is printed as a result!) Monster Hunter 5 is announced as a New3DS exclusive game, probably not released till early 2016 though (this one is a bit of a shot in the dark, cause it might still be a bit early for that...) Nicalis will still fail to release anything in Europe in 2015 :p
  22. Yeah, I've been using a 64GB SD/microSD card in my 3DS for a good while. Works perfectly when you format it to FAT32 (and with roughly 250 apps/games on my Home Menu, I still have plenty of space! TBH, I'm more concerned with hitting the 300 icon limit than any sort of space limit. I do have a load of crappy apps, videos and demos that I can remove if need be, but I get the feeling that there's a good chance that I might actually hit the icon limit before the generation is over ) BTW, little pro tip. If you are using a normal SD Card instead of a Micro SD Card (inside an SD Card adapter) with your current 3DS, make the switch to Micro SD before you actually get a New3DS; it'll make for a much simpler and generally painless system transfer process (in fact, there's an option in the System Transfer process that assumes that you've already done this in advance! Doing so means that you can literally just do the licence transfer process, swap the Micro SD Cards over and you're done, without even having to turn the system off! I was impressed to see that they actually assumed that some people would do that! :awesome: )
  23. It and Kirby Fighters Z have both been rated for EU/Aus release, so they are indeed coming (just much later in typical NOE fashion when it comes to all things Kirby :p ) BTW, just in case you don't already know, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball has also been rated for an EU release too (plus the Smash Wii U trophy in the EU version also mentions an upcoming EU release ) Glad to see you're enjoying Triple Deluxe! It's not quite as good as Return to Dreamland/Kirby's Adventure Wii IMO but it's certainly up there! (Oh and yes, Dedede's Drum Dash is indeed the shizz! )
