No. There area is a separatist province with Russian backing that, since 1992, has been all but independent of Georgia. The Georgians moved in this week to re-establish their authority and Russia moved to stop them as they gave everyone who lives there citizenship.

I always feel compelled to defend Winehouse on here. As an artist, I think she's amazing. As a person, she's a trainwreck. Depends how willing you are to divorce her album from the tabloid exposure. Personally, I think Back To Black is fantastic.

Been an OK day. Tidied and dusted my room a bit, went to town to sort my dole payment, got a pastie for lunch. Was good. Sun was out. Feeling productive! hurrah!

I swear the moth that came in my room the other night was the size of a small dog. I don't mind too much. I find insects quite interesting, and you gotta admit that picture of the wasp is seriously fuckin cool.

I'd recommend him, then. He writes particularly dark and realistic tales about the cold war (he was actually a spy in East Germany at the time) so don't expect James Bond. His spies don't like fast cars and women, or martini...or themselves. It's ace. Start with The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
