The Bard replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Wow...Ok, so maybe Metroid being unavailable wasn't such a bad thing after all...this looks pretty amazing. -

What game has the best storytelling?
The Bard replied to Gaijin von Snikbah's topic in General Chit Chat
Chrono Trigger by infinately far, it makes you feel at ease, as if you've known the characters all your life, they become family... The final fantasy series also have involving mythical storylines that are great to follow, VII and IX specifically. Metroid Prime told the story real well. Prince of Persia: TSOD trilogy, was told bloody fantastically, even though there was one glitch later on in WW where when you turned back time, you would go back, but the platforms would remain collapsed, so you'd fall to your death immediately, it was quite hard. -
Yeah, it's known as Zakaht, or religious tax if you like, it's 2.5% of their yearly earnings, including savings, and this goes to places that need it most, ie. third world, and developing countries. That is unless the bastards who it's paid to decide to keep it all for themselves.
-
Oh so 512mb comes with the console? Thats all good then
-
Oh. Balls. Less appealing by the second. Fortunately, it's still gonna be the best console in history .
-
Just get an external hard drive mate, they cost less than SD cards.
-
Bastard. I'm gonna need a job.
-
This sure sounds wierd. Hope it'll be worth it though.
-
Oh...oh damn...Looks like it's going to have to be zelda then...I don't like to settle for second best...:S... Red Steel might be a candidate too though.
-
I think this is going to be my one launch day title. Man, It was Awesome.

Not True, specifically because I have read the Quran many times through, as I used to be a muslim myself, that isn't the case, it says that nowhere, you should look up these references before you print them as fact. I'm not defending Islam or religion, I just think it's ridiculous that you say how it's unfair that (some) Muslims have unfounded assumptions about your country and it's inhabitants, and yet you're willing to post this load of contrived rubbish at a moments notice. Non muslims are treated as normal citizens are, the only difference being that they have to pay taxes (whereas it mandates that muslim citizens donate AT LEAST 2.5% of their yearly earnings, this isn't counted as tax ) I spit upon thee!!! =P

I'm kinda pissed off, £150 would have been great. £180 is just a pain in the arse. Looks like just Metroid for me then .
-
What I think they stand for? I think the Quran and Bible explain pretty well what they stand for mate. And Irrelevant it may be, but I was just pointing out that the 20th century wasn't all that catastrophic when held in comparison to the past. And yes, autopsies were banned by the church, it's a well documented fact.
-
Thats not what I said, that guy said that the 20th century was the worst in history, I was just giving my opinion, I never said religion caused the black plague, learn to read.
-
I'll get it, should be great for street fighter and mario
-
You what? War is fought for a just cause to prevent things like the holocause and gulag slaughters, a few centuries ago everyone would have turned a blind eye to such things, now look back in time to the salem witch trials, mass burnings in the middle ages, the black plague, slavery, segregation and many other horrors and say it again with a straight face. Also, I really do agree with Indigo, god is probably the cause, but not any god that we know of I don't think, but either way, its still guesswork. Maybe I'm a simpleton, but the more I see of nature and of science, the more it seems to point to a sentient creator. Either way, the gods of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are not plausible in the least, because of what they stand for.
-
Yeah, I'm with you 100% on that, it's sad that people let their fear and hate of what they don't understand get the better of them. They should just let it be, and find solace in the idea that what they believe is right. That said, I do know some truly inspirational people that are christian, and others who are religious, perhaps religion doesn't best work for everyone. There are some good ideas perpetuated through faith, like charity, love and forgiveness, it's just too bad that the zealots don't see it that way.
-
Um, I'm sure that wasn't the case, autopsies were forbidden etc, it was a long time before even the vital organ and circulation systems were properly identified and explained. Either way, anything good that has come out of religion is a meagre defence at best, at least in my eyes. At the risk of sounding like an idiot; read HDM, that ought to explain it. And you seem to have misunderstood me, I'm not anti jew at all, but I find the idea that you can go and steal other peoples living space and ransack all their property because it says so in a 6000 year old text which is most likely, completely fabricated, entirely preposterous.
-
It has nothing to do with the bible, rather, how people interpret the bible, and manipulate it for their own self righteous values. As for Islam, yes, I agree, I think it's the one abhramic faith thats reasonably plausable in my eyes, but perhaps thats because I used to be a muslim until a while ago.

What the about the fucking dark ages, where scientific research was considered heresy and anathema? Don't talk complete bull, if it wasn't for religion, and those willing to stagnate and punish human progress, then we would be milennia ahead of where we are. We don't need god to justify our existance! You see these religious people even today, saying it is a sin to do anything about things like global warming, saying that god will protect them, and that "this is not our homeland anyway" it infuriates me, how do these religious realots not see through their lies and bigotry? The jews of israel say that it is land granted to them by god, and so they proceed to kill the palestinians, and destroy their ways of life. If I went to someone and told them that their house was my property because it said so in some book, they'd probably tell me that I had 3 seconds to get the fuck out of my sight with their nuts intact. :p Evil. And it can be averted by the most simple of logic, but noone will see it, Tell them to fuck right off! "Uncloud their mind" :p.

Shallowness is a matter of perception and opinion. A person is only as shallow as they are percieved to be in the eye of the beholder. Shallowness/ depth is an illusion, nobody knows what drives another person to do the things they do, or be what they are, so in all honesty, no one is qualified to judge. I think you should stop throwing around such statements so carelessly. The fact of the matter is, I don't like religion, and won't ever, I was influenced strongly by it until about 2 years ago, and my family still devote most of their time towards it. Time, which, in other words, is wasted. If there is a god, or isn't, it is irrelevant, because it's existance is far detatched from ours. How is worshipping some entity going to help him or us, why, if it is so omnipotent, and omniscient, does it need our worship to begin with? Why are we told to abstain from things that will bring us happiness? And why are there so many evil deeds allowed to be carried out in the name of this god? Religion, is just an elaborate and very convincing mistake, after all, when you look at it carefully, what else could it be?
-
WTF? Why discuss religion when there's something much more important at hand! The stargate movie is on on the Sci Fi channel. Jaffa! Kree!
