I only have to spend less than a month in this terrible, terrible city. I'll be moving back home and staying home for my second year. This excites me.

I literally took apart my computer last Thursday so I've been stuck on a 4/5 year old laptop running Ubuntu. It was kind of good timing, it's about two years old so the thermal paste needed changing but I just got my capture card and I couldn't use it. I cried myself to sleep. Oh yeah, because it was the weekend just gone that meant royal wedding and bank holiday Monday. I had an assignment due in for Monday and the building I needed at Uni was only open on Saturday & Sunday, I didn't want to do it again but I bashed out an assignment in 2 days. #21stcenturywoes

My PS3's ethernet plugs straight into my PC, PS3 Media Server couldn't stream some 1080p movies and animays I had. I think it works fine for everything else though.

I'm surprised, the PS3 stuff has been pretty hard to decrypt. It's been out a while now and no-one has managed to crack the stuff they put on videos. They're just simple mp4s with aac audio, I think, but it's not been cracked. I don't have any money anyway so if someone did get my details they'll find they can't take anything out of my account.

I was a good student, did the work and nothing else. I wasn't in any 'group' so I spoke to pretty much everyone. I'd go play football with the "cool" kids one day, the next day I'd sit in the art classroom with another group of people, then another day I'd be sat in the computer room with another group of other people. When it came to the exams in my final year I underperformed. Looking back I regret not living up to the standards my really good looking Science teacher had for me, I feel like I let her down. The only good thing I can take from it is that I managed to take a higher level maths paper and do alright in it. I used to think about this regularly until recently when I realised there's nothing I can change about the past now, I might aswell get on with changing the future.

I've never played a Phantasy Star game but I'm interested. Thinking of picking up some of the portable games and Universe. They should be cheap now.

That and a component cable, a triple phono coupler, a double phono coupler and a psthwiisixty component cable all of which I don't need because my graphics card can take HDCP like a real man.

I think because I am being new I can't like this. I would like to quote for truth though. I hate all gaming sites like that, they're all the same. Kotaku put up an article asking if Sony owe us anything for this downtime. I don't think they do, we're not paying for the service. PSPlus subcribers are paying for something but they're only paying for early content and cloud saving as far as I'm aware, nothing like online multiplayer like XBL forces you to pay for.

Do hackers need a reason? One person gets pissed off and something like this can happen. Not that I care much, I don't play online multiplayer nowadays. In fact I started playing less and less when XBL went down that Christmas.

Last night I watched Wargames, a fantastic 80's film. Earlier in the day I spent £95 on something I couldn't afford, however it will provide me countless hours of entertainment. Today the PSP component I ordered came, a pleasant surprise considering I was told it was a long weekend. Now I can play the second game in my most favourite series on a big screen. Yeha!

Instead of making a new thread, line rental is only for when you want a landline telephone right? I'm on virgin only broadband up to 20Mb, unlimited downloads for £30 a month which is ending in a month or two. I need to find a cheaper one which is just as good. Any recommendations for just broadband? -

Because of my learning of other languages I finally learned to really understand nouns, etc. Yes I'm 15 years late but it's stuff like that (and how to find the mean, median and mode) that never stick in my head. It's a wonder how I'm at University. I would have liked to learn French if Secondary School didn't ruin it for me by teaching it poorly. I'd love to learn German, only because I've visited the country about 5 or 6 times when I was young and I'd like to go back sometime. Not to visit my God infused aunt though, there was a real nice looking girl there... she was quite a few years older than me and ended up in a mental asylum. I guess Japanese is good enough for now.

I lost about 20 times to the computer playing Koi Koi. Considering I learned how to play it in about a few hours and managed to get 33 points off the bastard one game I'd consider this 'good stuff'.

I was going to change onto a course in the second year which looked amazing. Monday everything was fine, information about modules for new course and whatnot. Tuesday I talked to my current course leader, everything is still fine. Thursday morning I email to say I want to change. Thursday evening everything spiralled into bad news. Friday I find out it's impossible and I should forget this option even came up. Even though my current course and the one I wanted to change to are similar, because one module in the second year of my course is taught in the first year of the course I wanted to change to I can't change. A module in the second year of the other course relies on the knowledge gained in the module that I will be on in the second year of my current course. Annoyed.

People who come to Uni just to get drunk, I've accepted them. What annoys me are the idiots who come to Uni who have no intention to even try to learn, waiting for other people to do the work for them, and have no common sense. Case in point, a girl in my group. She's an idiot. How she is at Uni I don't know. I think I convinced her of two things. First that my mother is Italian and my father is Ukrainian, I grew up in China moving to England when I was 18 to to go to Uni where I learned to speak English fluently with no accent whatsoever. Then I convinced her, using my name, that I was in fact from Chernobyl, just left of Kiev (if you check a map it's not, it's north). She once asked who Gordon Brown was and couldn't pronounce Syria. I can't wait to see her fail.

I found out a 15 year old created the drag2up chrome extension. I wondered what the hell I'd been doing with my life up until now, then I made a funny T-shirt.

I thought my future was sorted until I grew up. Now I wonder what's going to happen and if I can really reach the goals that my 15 year old self set, it's a (bingo) I've held onto those goals for so long and didn't just give it all up. Those goals are for self satisfaction though, I have no idea what job I want to do but I'm on a course now which is leading me somewhere. I can only wait and see.
