I'm not a big fan of Alomomola, not only does it look like some kind of organ, but it seems too similar to Luvdisc to be completely unrelated. Although, who knows, perhaps they are evolutions but nobody has found how to evolve it yet I suppose one good thing about it, is that in a battle it just randomly healed my Pokémon for me. That was quite a pleasant surprise.

Get out of here with your logical answers

I fear that when I do eventually get a 3DS (I have to wait for the local shop to get the black back in stock) not everybody will add me, as the first wave of mass-friending will have passed After all, who will check this thread in a week or two?

Yeah, I thought it was a matter of seconds to make that sub-forum, but perhaps it is more work than I thought.

Gen II had 16 badges

Excellent point, although I don't remember finding the DS "Phat" especially ugly at the time, probably because I didn't know what Nintendo had in store for us in the future. As for GBA, I actually preferred the SP, but to each their own, I suppose.

Thanks for the opinions so far. What I have concluded so far is that even if they release a new version of the 3DS in a year or two, it would be more fun to already have one until then. Chances are if I were to own a launch 3DS, that I would skip the second iteration, unless there are some crazy new features. Apart from the price I can't really think of any reason not to get one at the moment, even if my games library might be slightly limited for a few months. And, after all I do still have loads of DS games that I can also play. This might be a bit weird, but from what I know about the 3DS so far, the pedometer/streetpass stuff really sounds the most exciting to me. Anyway, thanks again for your insights, looks like I may be getting a 3DS after all

After hearing all the good things about the 3DS on here, I am starting to get really tempted. While it may make more sense to wait for the second version, I don't know if I can physically do it. From what I have heard there aren't really too many problems with the 3DS as is anyway. The battery life shouldn't be too much of an issue for me, as I play at home mostly. So what do the rest of you think? Is it worth it to get it now, even though the only game I want at the moment is Pilotwings, or should I wait for the 3DSlite? If it is worth it, which color can you recommend more? I heard that blue looks a lot better in person than on pictures, but I do like the black as well. Thanks in advance for your feedback

I would assume that it wouldn't cause confusion, since the ability makes it impossible for Lilligant to get confused. Sounds like a good strategy. Edit: From Bulbapedia "A Lilligant with Own Tempo is the only Pokémon that can naturally use this move without becoming confused. " That answers that.

Welcome! Yes, this generation really is especially good.

You do have a point that the discussion is slowing down, but it would still be appreciated After all, it could always be removed or merged if there isn't enough activity right?

I don't have a 3DS, but I image the process is almost identical as it is on the DSi. In the system settings you just have to configure an access point, by searching for available WiFi signals, and then entering the password if there is one. Both WEP and WAP will work. Once that is done, the game will automatically use that access point when you want to go online. All the online features can be accessed from the top floor of every Pokécenter, with the far right being the GTS and random trade and the middle being the WiFi club.

I think sleeping increases the chances more than paralyzing, maybe you should try that.

I got it on my first Great Ball, after two Pokéballs. It has a pretty high catch-rate for a legendary, so it really shouldn't be too hard. All I did was get it down to 2 HP and putting it to sleep.

Which, when you think about it is much better. With the extra depth, it is more subtle, but if it popped out, I think it would get quite distracting.

I just checked and it's $360 here too. All this talk about how great it is, is very tantalizing. I'll probably get some iteration of the 3DS eventually, and if some good games come out that may be sooner than I anticipate.

Isn't it about $450 in Norway I thought it was bad here in Switzerland at $350. And no, you don't have to charge fully before playing.
-
Any chance we could get some pictures of the difference for those of us without a 3DS?
-
I hadn't considered that. The bottom screen is the same as on the DSi isn't it? I know that the top one isn't the same resolution, so what exactly does it do? Is it just stretched or something?
-
The only reason that I didn't get the 3DS yet is because this isn't out yet

I don't think you can read about them in-game, but our very own Serebii's site has a great Abilitydex

Yes please, I think a lot of people would appreciate it a lot.

I am almost appalled at my lack of hype for this thing, I even forgot that it was released this week. Once we see some Paper Mario and Professor Layton news, then I might change my mind. Until then, I wish everyone a lot of fun with their new revolutionary gaming device
