Just have some patience, I'm sure there will be a (good) RTS for the Wii some time (Batallion Wars might be the first?). It was the same with the DS, we had to wait a long time but then we finally got some RTS games. Both systems are (somewhat ) perfect for this genre

Hmm too bad IGN gave the game just a mere 5.7. Imo the game deserves this grade if you only look at the quality, yes, it's not polished, that's true. But it Ãs fun if you like spider-man. My only real problem with this game is that I've almost finished it If I finish it before monday I'll return it to the shop, why wouldn't I when I'm done with the game? :p (me love 14-day return warranty ^^ ) So all in all this looks more like a rental to me. Rent the game, play it, have fun. Buy it when you couldn't get enough of the web-swinging in SM2.
-
Well I was going to buy SSX at first, but I read the tracks are pretty much the same as in the previous games, and since I already own SSX3 and On Tour I bought SM3. Really fun game, the swinging controls are great and once you got a hang of the combat it works very well.
-
Yep, like I said before, you can't really buttonbash like in the previous games (at least that's what I always did ). The game is getting really fun now and the web swinging is great, the motion controls rock I'm pretty amazed by the graphics too, but that's probably because I wasn't expecting anything at all on that aspect.

Streaming video pics and music from your computer to ur wiii

Hmm it doesn't seem to work with my psp, maybe that's because my pc in connected to the internet through a network (so the IP i see is the one from my router)? Haven't tried it with my Wii though. -
Well I can tell you that the swinging does work really well - and, most of all, it's fun. As to the combat, yes it does require you to get used to it and I have to say I'm not really yet, but the times I do it right it feels really cool to use the motion controls and it really adds to the overall experience A downside: I got 3 hours playtime and according to the game I'm on 25% Maybe I should increase the difficulty setting to the highest (now on 'hero' aka normal)
-
Then either I missed a setting (as far as I can see the game doesn't have any visual settings at all) or it really has been stripped from the EU version Or that developer is lying ofcourse
-
The game doesn't support 16:9 or 480p, a real bummer for me (and my HDTV ) too, but then again with the component cables it looks decent enough.

Ok I bought the game today, and played it for about an hour. That's way to short to give an accurate opinion ofcourse but I'll share my first impressions. First of all, during day the game looks better than I thought it would look. The glass in buildings all reflects (as opposed to what I read somewhere before) and the lighting looks pretty neat. Central park even has 3D grass :p But don't expect realistic envoirments in terms of textures etc, they just look 'fake'. I got this impression even more when going to Central Park for a mission. The grass is so (light) green and there are so few trees it looks like Legoland or something One major downside for me is that there's not even a friggin' 16:9 option. Fortunately the game doesn't look that stretched when you play it but the (cgi) cutscenes do. Oh, and those cutscenes are pretty ugly too, I think they just rendered them with the PS3/360 and put them in a movie file for the Wii, the lazy bastards :p Now, the important part: controls. I hated them at first, they're hard to get used too especially when you think you can just 'button bash' with the motion controls. You really have to get used to them and in one of the first missions where you have to get bombs off a building you're really going to hate the controls like I did at that time. I'm more used to them now and I expect that to get better. The camera really sucks during combat, it feels like (I'll check later whether this is true) it reacts too slow on your movements, and you constantly have to place the darn thing behind you with C. All in all I think this is really one of those games you'll only like if you like Spider-man. Like I said before the controls are tough in the beginning and can get you frustrated a lot. But since I've only played for 1 hour it's just a first impression so that can all change when I've played some more.
-
Well actually the game is easier if you play on your own than with a mate at your side in your team, at least in my experience. But the fun factor counts too ofcourse ^^
-
Same with me, I don't like football either but Mario Strikers has zip to do with that sport imo :p I would never have bought the game if I wouldn't have played it at a friend's house.
-
So we Europeans are the first to use the Wii's online gaming system? Take that, Americans and Japanese!
-
Lol, ok I guess I was wrong then I guess the difference between you and me is that I practically play on consoles for the (offline) multiplayer fun ^^ I think that 50% of my time on the cube/wii is spend in multiplayer
-
You probably never played the original Mario Smash Football? That game is brilliant, one of the best multiplayer games for the cube in my opinion. The thing with this game is that it's almost perfect gameplay-wise, it plays so damn good and it's so fun to play too. If it's successor is any like the original, you're really missing out on something if you don't buy it
-
I think so too, I've been looking for reviews on the net and couldn't find any But all previews are very positive (just check em out on http://www.gamestats.com) so I think it's a safe buy if you liked the prevous Spider-man games. It still sucks that there aren't any reviews though :p
-
Nope, games that support 16:9 display look good (enough) to play, at least on my telly
-
IGN talks about "the title formerly known as DK Bongo Blast" and refers to it now as DK Jet. Guess that confirms the name change?
-
If this game supports the bongo's, I'll buy it, I got 2 sets of those things. But if it doesn't, it wouldn't be that interesting for me.
-
Wasn't this game announced on E3 2005 already? As far as I remember they (Nintendo) said something about SSB coming to their next-gen with online capabilities etc. though not even the name was announced back then. If they were already developing the game in that time and not just making plans for it, they already have had a good 2 years of development time so it could be a lot more finished than we think it is ^^

I think he means the vague thing on the left which somewhat looks like a telephone pole Anyway am I the only one who doesn't really like the boxart? I mean sure, the art looks cool, but the "Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition" looks awful! I mean, even I could photoshop that and I'm no pro. Especially the font of "Wii edition" looks cheap and does't fit in with the style they chose in the rest of the boxart. I'll still be buying this game though
-
It's not? Hmm, then I have to go check some previews, the ones I read until now were about SM3 for all versions and not very specific so I assumed they were all pretty much the same. Thanks!
-
I also have an HDTV with both my Wii (component) and cube (RGB) connected to it, and I can tell you it makes a huge difference. The lack of ghosting, vividness of the colours and sharpness are very noticeable. I got sick from the image I got on my TV from the cube but the Wii image is a lot better fortunately.
-
Do you mean that Skype might become available for the Wii some time (are there any rumours or something?) or that people will just have to be lucky to have their pc close to their tv :p
-
I really like Spider-man (read the comics, seen the tv show & movies and played both previous-gen games + some oldies) but while I'm still considering to buy a 360 once it's price has been dropped (gotta happen some time, the system's been out for more than a year now!) I won't buy this game unless it's grades will surpass those of the 360/PS3 version, which I doubt. The swinging controls look nice, but it's still the same game compared to the PS3 and 360 versions and those are in HD and just have better visuals. Sounds to me like a better deal since they all cost the same.
-
I don't care if it wil come out full-priced or not, I'll buy it anyway because I never played the original even though I have a cube (shame on me, I know :P )
