  1. If Mario + Rabbids 2 gets announced and Silksong gets a release date, best Direct ever for me. I hope they keep the pace up like their last few Directs, and don't spend too long on any one segment (*cough*Smash*cough*). I still have nightmares about that what felt like 10 minute Xenoblade segment at E3 where they went through every battle mechanic
  2. Sorry I should have phrased it better, I just mean they're likely to announce hardware the same way they usually do, in it's own Youtube/social media/PR announcement, for maximum attention, rather than in a Direct surrounded by lots of other news. Silksong release date Mario Golf 2D Metroid
  3. Yep, can't see them announcing hardware like that in a Direct. It'll get it's own dedicatd reveal for maximum attention.
  4. Feels like they're getting on top of leaks more than usual, I don't think there were any rumours about this happening. Pretty sure they've done 10pm streams before, not 100% if they were full Nintendo Directs though.
  5. Usual managing expectations from them talking about how it's only Q1/Q2 2021 games, but they tend to include a further out surprise or two. I'd be surprised if they put anything Zelda in this though, seems like a dedicated Direct thing like Mario's 35th got. Is there much else to show of Bravely Default or Pokemon Snap? Those are the only big hitters announced for this year.
  6. My god Nintendo, the kings of left field. It's finally happening...
  7. Definitely a risk but it's good to see them try something different. For me the first two episodes are what hooked me, if it had just been the usual MCU type thing from the beginning I'd have not bothered. I realise I'm in the minority there though!
  8. Just watched the latest episode, enjoying it! I assume it's a running joke in the MCU that whenever there's some government agency with a cool sounding letter abbreviation, they'll end up as the bad guys. Seems to happen A LOT
  9. Big fan of the puzzle box levels where you have 10 seconds to complete lots of mini challenges. I seem to remember one in the post-game that was pretty hellish, you had to do 50 in a row or something. Nintendo could put out a £10 eShop game made of just those and I'd be all over it.
  10. It seems to be a pretty common school of thought online, stuff is either one of the best things ever, or one of the worst things ever, no in-between.
  11. I'm finding the 200cc (officially a thing!) a lot easier to deal with now, not using the run button helps a lot!
  12. Aren't you the one who was constantly moaning about anyone daring to say anything negative in the PS5 thread?
  13. Didn't you hear, Nintendo aren't good at making Zelda games either
  14. ^ fyi, the spoiler tag isn't working, for anyone who hasn't beaten the game. Still not sure why people feel the need to post spoiler images when they beat a game
  15. I didn't realise that about the green stars but I'm not sure it makes a big difference. The Celeste strawberries are precariously placed whereas green stars are more just hidden (at least two worlds in, can't remember what they're like later). Totally agree on the 200cc though. I actually rarely use the run button in this version of the game, just to get to the top of the flagpole and things like that. I'm definitely getting more used to the speed increase though. Also the more I play the more I agree with this...
  16. This game is just magical. The perfect blend of 2D and 3D Mario. Amazing OST, beautiful visuals and platforming from the industry's best. The only thing I'm not keen on is the increased character speed. The majority seem to love but I think they move just a bit too fast now, and the run button is pretty pointless. Not tried Bowser's Fury yet, having too much fun in SM3DW!
  17. I was expecting this around April/May so June isn't too bad. Can't come soon enough as there's now a bit of a drought on PS5 for me personally, nothing really until then apart from Kena (?) and LEGO Skywalker Saga.
  18. Blue Neelix actually had a personality, which helps. Same with Mayfeld. I still find it strange that they hire so many comedians or wrestlers/MMA fighters to play characters on the show. Really weird.
  19. Right decision. A shame for her, you can tell she was having the time of her life. Much as I wanted to like her character though, her terrible acting made it tough to do so.
  20. That's not particularly useful when so many people will have never played the game in the first place. For someone like that, the amount of fun had isn't going to be substantially different in 2021 vs 2013, so the review should reflect that or at least make it clear that the write-up is based on the port, not the gameplay itself. But regardless, the IGN review didn't really talk much about how the game holds up in 2021, it was more criticisms of the game itself, like an endgame unlockable character being better than the 4 starters (well duh), or cat ears on enemies not being substantial (wtf). Anyway, it's one man's critique, and he's entitled to it.
  21. The world doesn't need another fan-made timeline... ...but I made one anyway. (Too much time on my hands in lockdown)
  22. From a 9.6/10 to the same game but running better, with more features and a brand new campaign: 7/10. I get that they're different reviewers but outlets have some responsibility to give a bit of consistency I think. At least we now know that the cat ears on enemies don't provide enough content.
  23. That IGN review is hilariously bad. And I say that as a fan of IGN generally.
  24. True. It was probably terrible in hindsight
  25. Another scan of the tweet to check if they've added Unirally yet. Another case of crushed dreams.
