  1. Yeah totally agree. The Wii was a genius idea, they struck gold there. Much tougher to make the Wii U look good

    3DS XL

Am I the only one that thinks it looks really ugly? Very cheap looking. Those speakers look like they're from the 90s.
  3. Wii Sports was such a simple concept, easy to pick up, accessible to all etc, this game seems a bit of a mess, and with lots of explaining to do, but I guess it's a little less casual than the equivalent on the Wii
  4. That would probably have cut sales figures in half
  5. I'm a bit bored of the same game engine being reused. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword felt identical, as did Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. I'd like to see Nintendo start from scratch when they craft their next world. Wind Waker felt fresh and had it's own style, everything from the visuals, to the music and combat. I loved the Celtic/Irish inspired soundtrack, and the charming vibe you got whilst playing, it gave the game a great energy and the whole thing felt polished as a result. Thrown in the seemless open-ended exploring, crisp, timeless, colourful graphics and animations and dozens more genius design and gameplay aspects and you have a spectacular game. Recent Zeldas seem to be following a worrying trend for Nintendo and its flagship 1st party titles, lazyness.
  6. I disagree with that personally, but oh well. It's still a two dimensional game, with two planes of movement
  7. I don't understand this 2.5D thing, all the New Super Mario Bros games are 2D. The character models might be 3D but the game is played in two planes.
  8. I hope we see the return of the key/keyhole from Super Mario World. Yeah right, the best we'll get is identical looking and acting warp canons from NSMBWii
  9. I think you misunderstand, these games are called 'New Super Mario Bros', sort of like The Next Generation, for 2D Mario games. It's a series of games
  10. I didn't mind it having to load Skyloft when landing on it, but I did find it strange Wind Waker got by with no loading times at all, which was very impressive in particular when arriving at Windfall. And that was on a previous gen console. The seamless nature of travel and exploration added so much to that game, and games like SS, PH and ST are much poorer without it.
  11. As much as I enjoyed Skyward Sword, the three areas still felt a little too much like a glorified Level select Nintendo seem obsessed with these days. Likewise with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, lots of mini areas all separated by a traveling mechanic. (Wind Waker was one big world, very different to PH). I really hope they get back to the massive landscape to explore, Wind Waker felt like an adventure because of it. Tiny boat, enormous sea, every island holding a new secret. The small islands in the sky in Skyward Sword were a total joke.
  12. I really hope the visuals are only finished for world 1, the background looks fantastic there and shockingly Nintendo actually bothered to mix up the art style a tad with it. The rest of the worlds (that spooky level apart), look totally devoid of any creativity or interest.
  13. Fantastic game, and yet we're getting two shitty NSMB games next
  14. Jeeze, they haven't even STARTED yet?! Great. Outsource MM to Grezzo, and give us a f-ing new game, surely it's not that tough a conundrum?
  15. It's the same with Twilight Princess, the battles themselves were great and epic etc but the build up just wasn't there, it all felt very rushed, even more so than SS.
  16. You could preorder a month before release and still be guaranteed one, but hey if it puts your mind at ease go for it. I just find it a little odd to pre-order 5-6 months before release especially since I doubt this will be another Wii in terms of popularity.
  17. I don't understand the point of pre-ordering so early. Seems silly
  18. The lighting was amazing, but I found there was a lot more tension in the Wind Waker final battle, the story built up to that confrontation really well, whereas the final battle in SS felt a bit empty (although the battle before it was good)
  19. Is it? Ever played LOZ, Zelda II, ALTTP, MM, TP? Zelda exists in a majority of styles and moods.
  20. You realise he's joking right?
  21. I couldn't care less if they keep or ditch motion controls, go for HD graphics or non HD graphics or any fluff things like that. The problems with the last few Zeldas are far more deep rooted than that. I'm more worried that Miyamoto wants to make a Zelda that appeals to 'everyone', sounds like a Zelda Lite approach like Phantom Hourglass to me.
  22. Exactly. Nothing we've seen rivals what either console can do, and personally I don't actually believe it's as powerful as them. It just doesn't seem like Nintendo to go all out on processing power and graphics like the PS3 and 360 clearly have.
  23. The time shift animations with the bubble growing and the land changing had severe frame rate issues for me which really ruined the effect most people didn't suffer from it though but I do think it's down to how old your console is.
