It's not a question of taking sides, what they're doing is, basically, excluding 10% of the population. I don't agree with your assumption that it would be the start of a slippery slope and have animal activists and the like knocking on their door. This is a question of basic human rights. You honestly think it will take 6-12 months of development time just to add same sex relationships? How long has the entire game itself been in development for? It would be a minor tweak. If I do end up getting this game I'll be wondering wtf would I want my Mii to marry a female character. I most likely wouldn't bother, and would miss out on all that exclusive content.

I don't mind Colin at all, I think his aggressive stance on Nintendo is needed next to Jose's flowery chat. He clearly wants to see them succeed, as do most of the IGN staff. The day Daemon or Brian Altano leave IGN is the day I stop visiting as well though!

Agree, that's a frankly shocking reply from Nintendo. Very disappointed in them and it's put me off this game a bit.

Great episode with some good points all round. IGN gets a lot of negative rep but I really enjoy their Nintendo coverage.

Really enjoying this so far I love the castle club grounds, really great to just walk around. Though I'm still confused which of the two game modes forms the main "campaign" of the game, I assume the castle club.

Regarding... I think it's fairly likely we'll see an updated 3DS at some point this year, with NFC built-in.

Just so I can understand the differences between each installment, is this because you didn't like the storyline and/or new Pokemon it introduced? Aren't those two things the only difference between gens? Different world too I guess.

X was my first and only Pokemon game and whilst I enjoyed it I was getting a bit bored towards the end. I can't imagine what this game would offer that would interest me, since it's the same basic concept over and over with marginal storyline changes. Might pick it up if the world looks good and there are enough differences to X.

Maybe other sites knew this before Serebii, I'm sure he's not the only one with his contacts and sources. Good writing isn't necessary bias, just as "pure and unemotional" writing isn't necessary good.

I don't think two years is enough time to shrink a big console (+ high res screen and power brick) into something the size of a 3DS. I can't even handle Gamecube level visuals.

I'm fine with the graphical capabilities of the 3DS, Nintendo prove time and time again great games aren't about about a console's technical horsepower. The screen resolution on the other hand is pretty painful in this day and age, that's what desperately needs updating.

I didn't see the point of a separate spoilers thread, especially for this game, just makes it cluttered and confusing. Edit: though the excellent first post in the spoilers thread makes it worth it!
